Some stats I just saw comparing the SEC's pre-conference stats overall from last year compared to this year. BA: .313/.304 HR: 220/120 Total Runs/G: 8.1/6.7 Staff ERA: 4.04/3.17
This is probably the same across the country, but apparently the average non-Conference Ole Miss game last year lasted 3hr 15min and this year they last 2hr 21min.
You did put it in the General Baseball forum, not the Cubs forum, so one could reasonably question whether it was the former Cub. I think the fact that I wrote the name in the title is enough for one to figure out that it's the Cub. In the story it does mention that he was a former Cub. Perhaps I should have quoted that part.
I only saw one clip from this show's first episode and it made me laugh my ass off. Something about a teenager trying to set the world record for masturbation in a day.
He has definitely bulked up. And yes, I'm in agreement with everyone else as regards him not running anymore. The cost/benefit ratio on that one is pretty obvious.
Hell, I don't care how long his contract is as long as we can get 5-6 more great seasons and a championship. Pay him 3m a year for 10 years after he retires. Just get the dude!
for real? If I was as wealthy as Pujols already is, to get me to go play for a isht team and market like KC, they'd have to offer like 5m/y more than the next highest bidder.
I hope not. I want him the hell out of the NLC (with the obvious exception of the Cubs). With them out, if he goes anywhere, it's almost certainly to the Cubs, IMO. Would the Dodgers not be major players?
Pujols' agent should be like "do you realize that Carl freaking Crawford now makes more per season than what you guys offered to one of the greatest baseball players of all time?"
so the Cardinals sources are saying that the years aren't a problem but the money is.... I haven't read through this thread, but I'm sure the point has probably been made at length, but if you are the Cardinals you pay the dude whatever the hell he wants (within reason). The dude is a freaking 21st century clone of Gehrig.
http://www.gifflix.com/files/52641308f021.gif For real. That really does freaking hurt. The previous season those five guys averaged 15 wins, 3.36 ERA, and a 133 ERA+ between them. Freaking damnit.
My favorite thing about stories like that are learning what kind of ass these guys are chasing. Mark Sanchez could have god knows how many ridiculously hot women in NYC and he goes after a 17 year old? And of course Steve Phillips isn't on the level of a Sanchez, but THIS is what he gets caught cheating with?
