  1. Why the hell doesn’t the padding go all the way up that wall?
  2. Lawler isn't the second coming of A-Rod but you're not accounting for how risky pitcher's health is. I'd probably still take one of the pitchers but it's not just about what you get now - you have to think about what you can get over their first 6 years in the big leagues. Yep, I understand. Pros and cons each way. I think both Rocker and Leiter are special pitchers. It’s a coin flip but I’d probably go with Leiter if I had to choose. His mechanics look so fluid. He’s probably a lower injury risk than Rocker. His 120th pitch in his no hitter was like 97 or something crazy like that.
  3. Lawler better be the second coming of A-Rod because if I’m a GM I’ll be damned if I’m taking a high schooler over Leiter or Rocker. Those two guys could be getting major leaguers out right now. Leiter has only given up 7 hits in 30 innings!
  4. Leiter just threw 7 no hit innings and was pulled because of his pitch count.
  5. Quintessential OMC post Indeed. I was proud of it.
  6. Virginia hasn’t lost that bad to Ohio since 1864
  7. Leiter’s kid just threw a no-hitter against South Carolina. 16k’s with 1 walk. The walk was to the first batter of the game.
  8. Maybe if teams paid minor leaguers a living wage they wouldn’t resort to being a drug mule
  9. OMG To paraphrase Bill Maher, whenever you do something that looks like an Onion headline, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it.
  10. Oh ya, let’s not forget another one. Their CURRENT basketball coach is on a federal wiretap buying players. My gut tells me very little happens from all of this. The NCAA are cowards. Not sure why, but the silence from the national sports media about all of LSU’s misdeeds is deafening. You’d think that stealing money from kids with cancer to pay football recruits would have been one of the biggest stories of the decade in the sports world, but nope.
  11. Not sure if anyone has been following this story, but it is getting very ugly for LSU, who is clearly trying to use Les Miles as a distraction from the serious allegations against the university. In a nutshell, Les had several sexual harassment allegations made about him eight years ago by women in the athletic department staff. The AD at the time wrote a letter to the LSU BOT that Miles should be fired for cause, only to be overruled as Les was popular and winning at the time. On a seperate rail, LSU football players were accused of physical and sexual assault by some female students, about which the university did zilch and the players were not disciplined nor was it made public. A female LSU tennis player was apparently beat up repeatedly by RB Darrius Guice, which was covered up by the tennis coaches and the entire athletic department. Again, no reprimand whatsoever and Guice was allowed to continue playing. Add to this the improper recruiting investigation in football and the ongoing wire tap scandal in the men's basketball program and it is looking a lot like Baylor a few years ago, or at minimum a lack of institutional control. I have to think civil suits may follow. You left out the part about where an LSU booster currently in prison admitted to embezzling at LEAST $800,000 from a children’s cancer hospital and funneling the money to players parents. This booster also admitted to federal investigators that he stole gift cards meant for child cancer patients and flying friends to LSU and New Orleans Saints football games on chartered flights labeled “outbound patient transports”. Good times in Red Stick
  12. Al Leiter’s kid surely has to be in contention for first pick in the draft. This is stupid filthy.
  13. Wow https://twitter.com/barstool_fau/status/1363303027705274369?s=21
  14. Was looking through some MVP seasons this morning and came across Willie Stargell in 1979. He won the NL MVP with a 2.5 WAR. Yeesh. Look at Stargell compared to Hernandez, Schmidt, and Winfield. https://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/awards_1979.shtml#all_NL_MVP_voting
  15. If only we could count on that, but it's been well documented that the wildly different things the ball does in Colorado screws with guys when they're away from Colorado, so he'll probably be awesome. People usually become better when they put on the Cardinals uniform for whatever reason
  16. That doesn’t help Although if it makes us feel any better, his career slash away from Coors is .263/.322/.471, 79 OPS+
  17. Tampa went 7-9 last year with a QB who threw 30 interceptions. And ironically would likely have lost in the playoffs this year to that same QB if he had been the starter for the Saints.
  18. So Dawson Knox played on the same team as DK Metcalf and AJ Brown at Ole Miss ...and they won 5 games #-o
  19. Kicking that FG is one of the all time stupid decisions I’ve seen. Just completely bonkers.
  20. What in the world was with that FG
