  1. When investing tens of millions of dollars and the future of a franchise in a player, his off the field IQ is just a crucial as on the field IQ.
  2. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2015-02-21/jameis-winston-nfl-combine-draft-comparison-peyton-manning-40-time-stock-first-pick-florida-state-quarterback-wonderlic
  3. Hopefully there will be more home run beer showers for the Rebels this year with the new flat seamed ball being introduced. Not gonna make a massive difference, but it will be noticeable. A ball that used to go 360 will now go 385ish, so that deep double in the gap might now be a home run. Good thing about the new ball is there is no increased exit speed off the bat since the ball isn't wound tighter, which means no increased risk of injury for pitchers. What is actually making the ball go farther is the lessened drag effect once the ball actually gets into the air. Unfortunately, the ball won't make much of a difference where it matters most: Omaha. The wind is still going to be howling in and because of the lessened drag effect ball still won't be getting down in front of outfielders. So just like every other year you'll have outfielders stationed 50 feet behind the infield dirt. So just like every other year, the only way to get basehits in Omaha is to roll them up the middle or down the lines or if you get someone like Mike Papi hit the absolute isht out of a ball. I hate Omaha so much.
  4. HOTTY TODDY!! http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/gifs/HRShower.gif
  5. Yikes... http://www.knoxnews.com/news/local-news/webutrape12_51912218 AJ Johnson was an absolute beast at linebacker, almost certainly would have gotten drafted. What a dumbass.
  6. god knows teams like Japan and Chinese-Tapei aren't cheating. Some of the kids they roll out look like they are 15.
  7. It's gotten nearly insufferable with the rise of social media. It gets worse every year.
  8. Nice job, Gators. They blew it with 5 star CeCe Jefferson who hasn't sent in his LOI yet. This from Rivals: Seeing that Ole Miss was likely his other choice besides Florida, I'm really liking this.
  9. Wow, he had to have known that exact route was coming.
  10. Brady gave the Chevy Colorado truck he won for being MVP to Malcolm Butler. Very cool.
  11. Please take that [expletive] down. Please. He didn't say that. Check his twitter. A poster on the rivals main board wrote that as a troll on Ole Miss.
  12. Wow, that's really crazy. I never gave much credence to the idea that we'd be able to flip Richmond, but it sure looks like it may be happening. I'll feel better once somebody with legit connections is reporting on the Tennessee side, though. Nothing from any of the UT guys. It's very legit. One of the Rivals writers for RebelGrove.com has a little brother that is best friends with Richmond. He wrote: Also, perhaps most telling: Freeze doesn't follow him on twitter anymore. Tennessee and Jones are pulling out all the stops in recruiting these past few years. He needs to start winning some more games in that ishtty division though.
  13. Dew, you SOB. Just stole the top OT in the country, Drew Richmond, from us at the last minute.
  14. Pretty ghoulish ads this year
  15. Ole Miss' 5'9 PG, Stefan Moody. I'm amazed some short dudes can jump so high. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/stefanmoody_zpsrbwi8d0s.gif
  16. repost because I love this gif so much http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/2867899/hitbyHR_medium.gif
  17. Petrocelli had 1 40 HR season, but that's it. Ah, definitely missed that. Talk about an outlier season that would put Bret Boone to shame, Petrocelli that year had a SLG% that was over 200 points higher than his previous season; dude jumped from 12 HR to 40 HR in a single year. His WAR that year was TWICE as good as any other season he had. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/petrori01.shtml Looks like he has the sixth highest WAR jump in history http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2012/10/11/3261476/outlier-fluke-mlb-war-seasons-baseball-history
  18. LOVE this photo. http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/ernie16.jpg btw, I just noticed something. Is Ernie's cap padded?
  19. Beautiful series of photos taken during a single Banks at bat:
  20. In doing some digging on baseball reference, it looks like the only other SS with a 40+ HR season is A-Rod.
  21. Imagine that.. and at SS... good god. I'm pretty positive he was the first SS to hit 40 HR in a season.
  22. He had a pretty tremendous six year stretch from 1955-1960 where he won 2 MVP's and averaged 44 HR, 184 hits, 123 RBI, and a 148 OPS+
  23. No hyperbole in saying that I may not watch the Super Bowl if it's Hawks v Pats. Freaking gross.
  24. He kinda looks like Carlos Gonzalez now, especially with the faux-hawk. Let's hope Baez is at least half as productive and at least twice as healthy as CarGo.
