  1. Well, let's try to do it again tomorrow. Murton better be playing again.
  2. No, no defensive plays yet. I doubt Adam will play this series.
  3. Wow. We're pounding the ball tonight. 8-1.
  4. Murton sac fly. Sooo close to a HR.
  5. Good thing Murton and Cedeno are playing. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much motivation to watch the game tonight.
  6. Well....at least Johnny's wife is hot. =P~ http://cache.boston.com/images/bostondirtdogs//Headline_Archives/4.6._mm_reporter_bdd_chin.jpg I prefer Josa Lima's wife... http://www.murrayinthemorning.com/timewasters/photos/joselimawife/joselimawife.jpg
  7. Thank god. Now we don't have to worry about Hendry getting him. So who's the odd man out in Montreal? Church or Wilkerson? My guess would be Church.
  8. Odd situation in Boston... From Rotoworld:
  9. ESPN this weekend! True.
  10. True. http://www.leconcombre.com/serials/comics/img11/Bat-Signal2.jpg Hey, Batman's real name was Bruce...
  11. Is there any place to find video highlights of Murton?
  12. 1 week isn't "too long to rot". For a regular player not playing in the All-Star game they get 3 days off. Adding in 4 days before that isn't going to ruin them or harm their development. Not that I'm in favor of that, but it's not like giving a player a week off to learn things at the ML level is going to hurt them. I disagree. The best thing for young guys is to play everyday. A week is a long time, and for what? To sit on an ML bench? There's a certain value in catching the first pitch and carrying the bags, I suppose, but not a great one. After reading the Cubs.com article, they are giving Dubois and Patterson a couple of days off and then they are headed to Mesa for hitting work. After that, they'll meet up with Iowa for the game on the 14th. The Cubs won't call them back up right away -- they'll need another week at least to regain their strokes and practice in game what they've been learning in Mesa. So you're looking at the 22nd, perhaps, before Corey and Jason return. I think it's inarguable that sitting Greenberg and Murton for two full weeks is foolish and short-sighted. Moreover, the article gives no impression of impending doom for Dusty, so I see no hope for Matt and Adam (and Ronny) to get PT. Nope, we'll see more of Hollandsworth-Perez-Hairston. I don't think you're really going to see a Cubs.com article saying Dusty's job may be on the line, especially since no one asked Hendry about it and there's no quote to report. Who knows if they will get playing time. I would just be very surprised to see the Cubs call up two good prospcts from AA just to sit them on the bench. If they just wanted to call up guys to fill the roster, we'd have seen Hubbard and Kelton brought up.
  13. Hey, maybe we'll see Matt Murton play tomorrow...
  14. I'm on, but I think Dusty will probably end up sitting him and Greenberg on the bench, which would make this move absolutely pointless and detrimental to both Murton's and Greenberg's development.
  15. Adam Greenberg and Matt Murton have been called up, reports ESPN.com.
  16. Wow. Didn't expect this. I wonder who gets called up to replace him? I guess Hairston is now our starting center fielder?
  17. Good god Hendry. Stay away from either of those pitchers.
  18. Fire Dusty. Please. This game was disgusting.
  19. Let's be honest. The Cubs are playing horrible baseball right now. We've lost 7 in a row, haven't had a lead in a week, and we've scored 1 run in our last 3 games. It needs to stop here. We need to get back on track in this game. We need good pitching and the hitting needs to wake up. The pitching matchups: Cubs: Jerome Williams http://images.sportsline.com/images/baseball/mlb/players/60x80/292135.jpg 1-3, 4.96 ERA Braves: John Smoltz http://images.sportsline.com/images/baseball/mlb/players/60x80/8074.jpg 9-5, 2.68 ERA Just win.
  20. Haha. That lineup is awful.
