    I agree to a point, but I also think that while Theo saw a chance to make the team much better, he also wanted to keep the best closer in this era away from other teams. The Giants are 1.5 games behind the Cubs for the best record in baseball, yet have 18 blown saves this season. That stat was so crazy when I heard it I had to look it up. If they were even middle of the pack we're looking up at them in overall standings.

    Love Harper, even more so in a Cubs uniform, but he has one of most punchable faces in baseball. I guess Bryant realized they were in Vegas and not a Bernie or Bust rally.

    On that note, I've watched an abnormal number of Jays games lately. Junior Lake is horrible at every facet of baseball, and he is every day player for them. ? He only has 21 AB. Guilty of overstating, but he looks lost in OF, which should be his calling card, and he is terrible at the plate.

    As opposed to Soler playing more and being exposed? I don't think people realize how average Jorge Soler actually is. He had a 0.1 fWAR in 99 games last year and has a -0.1 fWAR so far this year. Dude is literally a replacement level player right now. The Cubs can't afford to wait and see what they might have in Soler. On that note, I've watched an abnormal number of Jays games lately.     This isn't a bad stretch anymore. They have the 3rd worst record in baseball in the last 30 games and have been a below .500 team in their last 60 or so. At this point, you have to wonder if the start of the season was more of a fluke than this bad stretch. No, we don't. Playing out of their minds, maybe.

    As pissed as almost anyone, but the pitching has sucked ass for nearly a month and the Cubs have a big lead going into the ASG, assets to make a deal and a FO I trust to fix what's ailing. The nearest contenders are horribly flawed and are less able to address their issues. It's July. This team will be fine. It's why I got so upset at the run differential watch in May. I think most of us would have taken the standings at the break going into the season, granted probably not how they got here. No team in baseball could be more poised to take off on a tear in the 2nd half, whether it be health, trade assets or ascending to their norm than the Cubs. This sucks but it is still early.

    Maybe I'm an Internet moron and this has been done (entirely possible) but could you add a feature to put newest posts in a thread first? I know this is probably there already but now I'm asking. Also, thanks for the good work. The front page articles are great.

    What? No! Coghlan is awful, and Almora is a GG caliber CF even if he weren't better at the plate.
