  1. I read this about Prior again and pray for Volquez Prior had games of 114, 118, 100, 116, 131, 129, 109, 124, 131 and 133 pitches. In the playoffs, he threw a complete-game, 132-pitch two-hitter to beat Atlanta, 115 pitches to beat Florida and 119 pitches in Game 6 of the NLCS against Florida, in which he was gassed by his 24th pitch of that fatal eighth inning. That's four games of 130-plus pitches, plus another with 129. In 2007, only twice did a pitcher throw 130 pitches in a game (Orlando Hernandez and A.J. Burnett each threw 130 exactly). Compare that total to 2003, when there were 27 starts of 130-plus pitches, topped by Kerry Wood's 141 in a May start for the Cubs.
  2. The end times are upon us. But that's okay, given what they say about the Cubs and hell freezing over. Perhaps it takes a hated player such as Edmonds on the Cubs in order to deliver us to the promised land. Somebody get the Bears to give Brett Favre a call. Jim Edmonds hits a walkoff home run to give the Cubs a World Series title. He looks like this as it's leaving: http://coreybrock.mlblogs.com/photos/uncategorized/edmonds_1.jpg Except, you know, wearing a Cubs uniform. And NSBB explodes in a swirling mess of contradictions. Classic. Very nice.
  3. Biting the hand that cut his behind and still feeds him.....Way to go Jim
  4. So...who won the over/under on Brenley saying "Yes dear you're right I am sorry"
  5. You think we would have learned our lesson by now. I am in OC for work and was listening to the game on the radio on the way home from the office and heard the three run inning. The Padres announcer was being an arse commenting how quiet the Cubs fans were now. I wonder what he is saying now?
  6. I am working in OC this week until Thursday and was going to go down to the game. Don't really know many Cub fans down there and was wondering if anyone had an extra for the game?
  7. Lou loves it when Fonsi makes the last out in the eighth.
  8. This series just gave Edmonds a stay of execution.
  9. Funniest picture ever.... http://www.deadspin.com/assets/resources/2006/10/zookskiing.jpg
  10. If he brought in a recording of someone singing the the stretch it would be similar to his recruiting. Actually, outside of last year, he sings likes he coaches.
  11. If completely overmanaging at times makes it a good month...Lou wins. Soribomb.
  12. Luis Rivas looks to have left his hitting ability in Pitt when we were in town.
  13. McLouth up with two outs and bases loaded in St. Louis.
  14. Seriously, stop ending innings DeRosa. No kidding....Big wind-blown HR aside of course.
  15. You are doing very good work today..... =D>
  16. Jim-my Ed-monds....clap....clap....clap clap clap.
  17. Great approach by the Cubs with bases loaded and no outs.
