We're the team for whom Sammy Sosa turned into one of history's greatest sluggers, for whom a minor-league catcher went from a .699 in AAA to one of the best in the game in two seasons, for whom an even worse minor-league catcher turned into the best relief pitcher in baseball. We've had our share :) I hear you but it seems like St. Louis has 4 guys a year that do this. Either washed up guys that resurrect their career or minor leaguers out of nowhere. Cory Patterson is in AAA with the Reds, and Rick Ankiel is starting in CF for the Cards. Tony Womack is another example, and Izturis this year is actual playing acceptable baseball. Bo Ryan, that Rodriguez guy, and Pujols absolutely came out of nowhere to be Ted Williams.
