  1. Z gets out of the jam. No score after 1.
  2. looked like Burny got that one off the end of the bat.
  3. 2 out double for DLee. Let's drive him in Burny.
  4. Lawton wearing #50 and no C on his helmet..
  5. the only way i want Hairston to be on waivers is if he's involved in a trade for Griffey. Other then that, it makes ZERO sense to release him.
  6. i'd rather just have Hairston bat 8th. Have a good OBP near the bottom of the order while you can have Walker bat 2nd, the best spot for him.
  7. i like Corey, but IMO i still think he has to stay in Iowa a couple more weeks. I really don't understand why Hendry is trying to rush him back up to the majors when it's clear that his swing hasn't been perfected yet. I'd rather have him stay in the minors until September 1st and continue to improve on the swing rather then experiment on his swing during a game on the big league club. i really hope this isn't true..
  8. id rather just demote Murton now so he can at least stay fresh and get some PT in either Iowa or West Tenn. if Patterson gets called up before September 1st, im going to puke.
  9. i'd like him for the rest of this year, but that would be it. NL hitters would figure him out pretty quickly, similar to what the AL hitters did.
  10. i have nothing against that. I just find it real hard that Macias would be DFA'ed.
  11. you morons lost on the day Ryno was inducted into the HOF. i expect to win the next 30 in a row starting tomorrow
  12. Agreed. Around the deadline, Griffey wasn't in the Reds lineup and Rotoworld had said that the Cubs were interested. I wonder if JH would still be interested in getting him and moving Lawton to maybe LF. Griffey or any of the Reds OF'ers ..i dont know if i could wait another month  like Roast said though, there's hardly any teams that are out of it. Of course you have your stupid teams like the DRays and the Reds with stupid owners/GM's that instead of trading your best players for some pretty nice prospects, you say your not going to trade anyone or you ask for the whole farm system. Idiots. if we managed to snag Griffey like the Cards did with Walker in August last year, id be more then happy :D
  13. i think everyone would've wanted Dunn or Huff, but Lawton is a good player to have as well. I'd be more then happy if he could duplicate what Lofton did for us in the stretch drive in 03.
  14. Wuertz could also be an option to send down.
  15. Hey Dwaine, i have an unrelated baseball question for you. Since you are a very fast runner, did you take up any other sports like maybe being a wideout/Kick Returner in football or being on the basketball team? I know Track is during the baseball season, so i left that out. Congrats on a great 1st half and well wishes on a great 2nd half as well :D
  16. Any package that includes Hill for Soriano isn't a good one, IMO - not when we already have Walker at 2B and Murton in LF. Hill's currently in OUR rotation for cripes sakes! I guess we could move either Mitre or Rusch into the 5th spot, if either are still here after all the dealing is done, but I still don't want to give up Hill for a positional player that we already have an adequate one for. Now if Hill were required to make a trade for Manny go through....... that would take some thinking. agreed. Hill and Pie and even more additional players for Soriano? No thanks. Like you said..Hill for Manny would be an entirely different story though.
  17. who cares about what they think of us? I'd like Soriano as a 4th option..behind Ramirez, Dunn and Kearns. Hopefully Hendry gets the memo and trys a full blown pursuit of either Ramirez, Dunn or Kearns.
  18. Dude you are a Cub fan. Go to work, aint nothing going to happen. In fact its better to work so you dont get pissed off waiting for crap to happen. Yeah, nothing happened last year either. Yes. That was pretty cool. But that was like a suprise party, you come home and.....holy schmoly. Dont get surpise party too much or it wouldnt be a surprise. i remember what i was doing...i was hanging out with a bunch of friends playing NCAA 05 taking my focus off the deadline. I figure the Cubs don't get anything done but when i came home at around 11:30, i go to espn.com and see a big picture of Nomar with the Cubs hat. I wish someone was around me to see the look on my face when i saw that  That was my favorite moment of all of last year's season in sports.
  19. ah just what i thought. I knew once Hunter went down that they would try to after a power 2B (look at the Hunter injured thread to see for yourself  ) like Soriano because their offense has absolutely no power right now. Soriano going to the Twins makes the most sense in the world IMO.
  20. could you or some other gracious poster out here do the same for me too? i might be able to listen to some of the game on and off, but chances are i probably won't know the latest updates on deals and stuff. I have AIM on my phone so i would greatly appreciate all of the help :D Sure, just IM me with your sn and I'll try and help you out. AIM s/n is Flames24Rulz. Thanks a bunch :D
