  1. Peoria wins the first game, 2-1 :)
  2. Good thing Dusty isn't managing anymore. Not only would Dusty rip Theriot publicly after the game, Theriot would spend the next 3 months in AAA. Dusty never ripped his players publicly IIRC. He did about things like "missing signs" and things of that nature.
  3. Uh, what the hell was that Aramis? The pitch was low and outside by about 10 feet.
  4. Sac fly by DJ Lewis puts Peoria up 2-1 heading to the bottom of the 7th. Let's get the win.
  5. Peoria in the bottom of the 6th tied at 1. Pina: 4 and 2/3s, 6 hits, 1 run, 2 Ks/2 BBs.
  6. I'm really hoping that he can prove me wrong and have a decent night at the plate tonight.
  7. And the Chiefs draw first blood with a 2-out RBI single from Matt Camp :)
  8. Pina's allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in the first two innings, but no runs. No score in the 3rd.
  9. Lineups: Cubs Theriot-2B DeRosa-RF Lee-1B Ramirez-3B Barrett-C Murton-LF Cedeno-SS Pie-CF Hill-P Braves Johnson-2B Renteria-SS Chipper-3B Andruw-CF Francoeur-RF Diaz-LF Wilson-1B Pena-C Redman-P No Jones is nice.
  10. Lineup for Peoria in game 1: Heredia-CF Camp-2B Lansford-3B Canzler-1B Joseph-DH Carter-RF Lewis-LF Canepa-C Mota-SS Let's get a couple of quality starts from Pina and Dolis today.
  11. Cleveland's pen is still going to cost them a ton of games this year.
  12. Iowa ended up winning 7-2. Marmol's line: 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 8 Ks/2 BBs, 3 HBPs on 94 pitches. Baez gave up a run in 1/3 of an inning. Cherry got the save working an inning and a third and striking out two of the four batters he faced. Every Iowa position player reached base except Machado, who had a sac fly. Buck Coats was 3/4 and Rojas and Hill were each 2/4.
  13. We'll beat Miami in 6. Anything further than that is crap-shoot. That would be 4 victories. The question is if you think they'll get as far as 3 victories in round 2. I'll take the under on the 6.5. Well, personally I think we'd take Detroit to 7 at the worst. I know the morons on ESPN think that the Heat would be a real tough matchup for the Pistons, but we beat them 3 out of 4 in the regular season. The one game we lost, we had a 14 point lead in the 3rd quarter at the Palace. We match up with the Pistons real well IMO.
  14. We'll beat Miami in 6. Anything further than that is crap-shoot.
  15. We're screwed Wow, Hinrich, you idiot. Why? Because he supposedly said that they can beat the Heat in a 7 game series? Would you rather him say we have no chance? Besides, it's not like the Heat weren't going to give 100% effort in the series, anyways. Hinrich said his quote before last nights game when the Bulls were locked into the 2 seed. It was kinda weird when I read it, almost like the Bulls were aiming to play the Heat. Well now they have their wish. Some of the quotes: Hinrich: Nocioni: Remember, these quotes were made before the NJ game. So you want Hinrich and Noc to just shut up when the reporters ask about the Heat. Heat - Bulls is a much sexier match up than Nets/Wizards/Magic - Bulls. And if Wade or Shaq got trash talking from what Hinrich or Noc said, I don't know how either passed 3 years of college. Well no, obviously they asked them direct questions about the Heat. I'd prefer an answer that shows focus and determination like "We are only worried about beating New Jersey and clinching the 2 seed. We will worry about the Heat if we match up against them" This is a lot like the Mark Prior "I"m just an employee" debate. Pretty useless and lets not read too much into this. This isn't the Bulls year to win it all. Next year will be when Tyrus has another year of experience and we have Roy Hibbert helping out in the middle. We said the same thing last year about this year was "the year we'll go far in the playoffs." We have to win a series this year in the playoffs. If we don't, Skiles should be on thin ice.
  16. I'd probably say Guzman just because he's had success with the big league team to this point. But if Marmol continues to pitch the way he does, he'll make it interesting.
  17. I had them finishing 2nd with a possible WC berth. Their pitching is too strong for them to be in 4th this year. Buehrle seems to have arisen again and the rest of their rotation looks real solid. Danks has had two real solid starts, even though he lost both games. If their offense can get on track, they are going to be a real good team.
  18. I hope that's what we do. When we foul him, we better foul him hard.
