    I'm thinking Miller, Marshall, and Marmol are our options if Guzman falters. Let's just hope that Guzman will pitch as effective as he did yesterday so we won't really have to worry about that. I think the organization knows that Miller is done, so I'd probably say Marshall would be the next guy in line. Iowa won 7-1. Wells pitched the final 2 and 2/3's only allowing 1 hit and striking out 4. Fontenot had a 2-RBI double in the 9th to break the game wide open. The top four in the lineup (Walker, EPatt, Fontenot, and Hoffpauir) went a combined 8 for 20. Kinkade was 3/4 with 2 RBI's as well.

    Marshall retired the first batter he faced in the 7th, but then gave up a solo homer. He then struck out Ricky Ledee, but it was a wild pitch. Randy Wells is now pitching for Iowa. Not Marshall's final line, but here it is for right now: 6 and 1/3, 3 hits, 1 run, 3 K's/1 BB, 1 HR. 58 of his 87 pitches were strikes and he had 10 groundouts to 7 flyouts.

    What an outing for Marshall so far: 6 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 K's/1 BB. 79 pitches and 52 of them have been strikes. 10 groundouts to 6 flyouts. Hoffpauir has a 2-run homer and EPatt is 2/3 with a double. Iowa leads it 3-0 in the 7th.

    Yeah, but right before the season started, the Twins knew he had an injury that would be exacerbated by crouching, and yet they gave him minimal time at DH and minimal time off. So it might be smart to keep him at catcher where his bat provides the most value, but it was stupid to do so in the short term because it practically guaranteed a trip to the DL. Stupid Twins. It's the same organization that rushed Liriano back from his injury last year. I'm not really that surprised. Gardenhire's not the brightest guy in the world.

    Iowa ended up winning 3-2 on an RBI single in the 8th by Tony Richie. Like Brian said, Marmol was real good tonight. He did give up two solo homers, but I love that 9 K/0 BB part of the line.

    Tennessee won 10-3. Decent outing for Gallagher today: 6 and 1/3, 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 ER, 5 K's/1 BB. Petrick pitched an inning and 2/3's of relief, only allowing a hit and striking out one. Mendez pitched the ninth and struck out two of the three that he faced. Another good day for the Smokies offense. Three players had multi-hit games: Fox, Cortes, and Spearman. Fox was 3/4 with a double and 3 RBI's. Spearman had a triple and 2 RBI's. Dopirak was 1/4 with a walk and 2 RBI's.
