  1. Not really a surprise. They don't lose to bad teams.
  2. Iowa wins 8-5. Howard gets the win and Cory Bailey gets the save. Fontenot finished 4/5 with 3 doubles and an RBI. Kinkade and Buck Coats each went 2/4 with a pair of doubles. Koyie Hill went 3/4, including a double. EPatt went 2/4, pushing his average up to .304 on the season.
  3. Iowa just took a 6-5 lead after a double by Fontenot, then a 2-out RBI double by Kinkade. That tied the game up at 5. Hoffpauir then reached on an error by Fresno's 2B. Kinkade scored from 2nd to give Iowa the lead. Fontenot is 3/4 with a pair of doubles today. His average is now up to .330.
  4. Ohh......that's why he wouldn't take a walk. Wow. I don't even know what to say.
  5. You've obviously forgotten who Ronny Cedeno is. Cedeno's had his fair share of games, but Jones played absolutely abysmal out there. Probably the worst "performance" we've had from a position player this season. Yes Jones was bad today but he can't touch a couple of Cedeno's performances. April 17 vs SD, 0-5, 2 K's April 22 vs STL, 0-5, 3 K's. Cedeno looks like he's never had a bat in his hands before when he's up at the plate. Yeah, those are both awful games. But a key DP in a big spot in the 8th and a huge error (at the time) in extras was pretty bad as well. Not to mention the failed H&R and you have an awful game. The hit and run is Lou's fault. There was no reason to make that call with Barrett running. The double play was just bad luck that he hit it right at the first baseman. If that ball gets through, you're singing a different tune right now. Or even if the first baseman makes an error on the play (whether fielding or throwing home) and Lee scores. Cedeno striking out and just looking lost at the plate doesn't even allow for that to happen. EDIT: And I'm sure Cedeno came up in big spots in both of those games - which the Cubs lost both of - and didn't come through either. Touche.

  7. No, it made the failed chance in the 8th hurt.
  8. Yeah, this story seems awfully familiar. Just like that 15 inning Padres game a few weeks ago.

Probably the worst "performance" we've had from a position player this season. It's time to trade Jones. How about Jones for Bonderman? That would be one solid trade.

  11. I really don't understand how you don't get at least one run there. Hell, even a groundball to the right side scores a run (unless the infield was in). Still, a flyball to medium depth OF scores one. With a team that loves to try to hit HR's, that should not be a problem. Just terrible clutch hitting as usual (save Sunday).
  12. Proof that the win streak we had was just a tease. Pathetic game today.
  13. Just tie it. My next final isn't until Friday, so this one could go on for 20 hours and I wouldn't care.
  14. Eh, whatever. Force at every base now..
  15. Seems like our portion of the inning is like 50 minutes shorter than the Pirates.
  16. Izzy getting a hit is enough to break Gameday on its own.
  17. Intentionally walking Sanchez to get to Bay. I know it creates a force at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but not too sure if I understand this.
