The problem is they also hit a lot of homers. Coors might be the only away stadium where they survive... Don't they put their baseballs in a humidor up in Coors now? I remember hearing that the HR numbers have leveled out and become much more comparable to the rest of the league because of this. Yes they do. Coors definitely isn't as big of a HR park as it used to be.

Are you certain? On Cubs.com's 40 man roster, it says that Blanco is still listed on the 15-day DL.

I'm a little bit surprised that they released Dopirak instead of putting Blanco on the 60 day DL. At least the Wade Miller experiment is finally done.

I like EPatt, but I don't understand this decision at all. Like TT said, Pie's leg must not be completely healthy. Otherwise, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

The Crawford Boxes are a joke, but the rest of the stadium makes up for it, IMO. Now the hill in CF... The whole stadium is a joke. Who the heck puts a flagpole on the field of play?

60 day DL for Guzman would make the most sense to make room for EPatt. I'm hoping and thinking it will be Pie that will be called up.

Pretty hard to forget about this game when you lose Soriano for perhaps a month. Sori will be missed but it's not like he was constantly on base or driving in a lot of runs. The Cubs might actually be better off in the short run with someone else leading off. It makes our already light-power hitting OF even worse. I fail to see how this is going to benefit us.

Prior, Zambrano, Clement, and Estes. The first 4 starters were the reason the Cubs got in to the playoffs for the most part. Prior was 3rd in the NL in ERA, Zambrano was 7th, Wood was 8th, and Clement was 27th. interesting, the Cubs really did get screwed by the Wood/Prior injury train and well by Clement sucking so much all of a sudden. I blame the Cardinals, the entire universe seems to be in their favor. Actually I believe Clement left as a free agent at the end of that year, and then he started sucking. Clement had some of the nastiest stuff, but he could never harness his control. I still to this day dont understand why Z or Clement werent brought in from the BP against the Marlins, and instead we used Dave Veres gahhhhhh Clement pitched in 2004 for us too and had a good first half before he fell off the charts in the 2nd half. He was even shut down in September and Glendon Rusch picked up the 5th starter duties in the stretch run. Damnit thats right. He never has done anything since leaving the Cubs has he? I still remember that linedrive off his face man thats was brutal He got off to a good start with the Red Sox in 05, but had another awful 2nd half. And then last year, he got hit in the face. He's never really recovered from that.

Cobb would have told you that his seeming lack of power was because he didn't want to hit home runs. He thought it was a coward's way to score runs. To prove that point to the media, when he was 38 and playing against Ruth's Yankees near the end of his career, he hit 5 home runs in 2 days. Although it would be silly to try and say that Cobb or any other person back then had the power swing that Ruth had. Then Cobb was a freaking idiot, wasn't he? In more ways than one. I never had heard of that story before, but the guy obviously didn't have a bright mind if he didn't want to hit homers when he had the ability to.

Dempster missed a month due to his oblique injury. I'll be very surprised if we see either Petrick or Kroeger back this season. -

Yup, if you're a pathetic excuse for a pitcher your numbers will probably be close to that of a Douche :wink: Start Murton. Despite Floyd's 1.081 OPS and Murton's 0 for 7 against Glavine, I'd say that's a pretty good bet. Yeah, lefties hit Glavine pretty well. Floyd will definitely start, at least you would think.

I also could've sworn that Marmol was going to be unavailable today. So then he puts him in a situation when we have a 4 run lead. That was the only thing that really was disappointing about today's game. Using Marmol and Howry in a situation where they weren't needed was completely useless. Wood hasn't pitched since Tuesday, so today wouuld have been the perfect time for him to get work in.

So you're stating that having an opinion of preferring 98 Sosa over 98 Olerud is wrong? Do you really have to say that everyone else is wrong if they don't agree with you? There's a concept called agreeing to disagree. It's not that bad of a thing when it's clear that one side will prefer one extreme of the argument and the other side will prefer the other.

Iowa's game just went final, a 12-4 win. Hart finished with 6 and 2/3's, 3 hits, 1 run, 3 K's/4 BB's. Cotts continued his suckiness as he gave up 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 K's/3 BB's in two innings. EPatt finished 3/5 with an RBI and a run. Soto was 3/4 with a double, a walk, and two RBI's. Jake Fox was 2/4 with a double and a run scored. Felix was 1/5 with a double and two RBI's. -

Yeah, there's no use at all for Hill if he's not going to be Z's personal catcher (not like there was any use for him to begin with). And it's a final in Tennessee. Smokies go down 4-0. That offense just looks real bad without Colvin. Iowa now leads 12-0. Hart has only allowed 2 hits thru 6. Hart is now 3/4 at the plate with 3 RBI's :shock: Jake Fox is now 2/3, including a double. -

Daytona lost 5-4 in 10. Tuero gave up an unearned run in the top half of the 10th. Estrada went 6, giving up 7 hits, 3 runs, 4 K's/0 BBs, and allowed a homer. Dopirak hit a solo shot in the bottom of the 9th (with 2 outs) to send the game to extras. Dope also had a double. Harvey had a two-run shot, upping his average to .231. Mautlia was 2/3. Peoria was two-hit as they lost 1-0. Carrillo went 6, allowing 5 hits, 1 run, 3 K's/3 BB's, and gave up a homer. Blake Lalli had both of Peoria's hits. Tennessee is down 4-0 in the bottom of the 9th. Good start for Nannini: 6 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs, 4 K's/2 BB's. Henderson gave up the other two runs in two innings of relief. Not a good day for the Smokies offense either. Alan Rick is 1/3 with a double, McGehee is 1/4, Cortes is 1/3. Camp and Chirinos are each 1/2. Iowa is routing Tucson 8-0 in the 6th. Hart has had a good outing up to this point: 5 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 K/3 BB's. Iowa got all 8 of their runs in the 3rd. Soto is 3/3 with a double and two RBI's. EPatt has three singles and an RBI. Pie is 1/4 with a double and two RBI's. Hart has helped his own cause with two singles. Jake Fox is 1/2 with a run scored.
