  1. http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/6194/derrickrosegd.jpg Derrick Rose released the following statement via the Chicago Bulls: "Recently, a photo has been circulating on the Internet which appears to depict me flashing a gang sign. This photo of me was taken at a party I attended in Memphis while I was in school there, and was meant as a joke…a bad one, I now admit. I want to emphatically state, now and forever, that Derrick Rose is anti-gang, anti-drug, and anti-violence. I am not, nor have I ever been, affiliated with any gang and I can’t speak loudly enough against gang violence, and the things that gangs represent. "In posing for this picture, I am guilty of being young, naive and of using extremely poor judgment. I sincerely apologize to all my fans for my mistake. I pride myself on being a good citizen, and role model, that young people can look up to and I want to urge all my young fans to stay away from gangs and gang-related activities." Weird. He's having quite an offseason so far.
  2. frankly i think it would be awesome if orlando just decided to completely tank it so that the lakers don't get to celebrate their victory at home. i'd probably even watch that game if the magic promised to lose by at least 50. It'd be awesome if the Lakers win on Sunday so I don't have to deal with the rioting in Downtown on a work day. I'm definitely calling in sick the day of the parade. I send my condolences out to you. My best friend is a Lakers fan and he's pretty insufferable when his teams win, so I have that to deal with.
  3. He's been abominably bad this series. But yeah, maybe he can demand the ball some more and play to the weakness of his team.
  4. This game just reinforced my hatred for the Lakers that much more. I hate Gasol, and Kobe's a joke for trying to talk [expletive] to Pietrus when Pietrus was flat out shutting him down. Orlando shouldn't even show up on Sunday.
  5. It doesn't help Orlando that they seem to be turning the ball over every other possession.
  6. Aramis is by no means a lock to be of significant help this season. Yep, that's true as well. Fred's thread basically told me that we absolutely can't sit around and wait for Ramirez to come back because our offense really didn't do anything with him in the lineup anyway. I don't think the Reds will be around either when it's all said and done. But the longer they keep hanging around, the more we obviously have to keep track of them. Granted they are playing the Nationals, but I'm sure we'd find a way to struggle with them because of our offense.
  7. Cards won. Reds are going to win too. I agree that Hendry shouldn't make a move for the sake of just making one, but we need to acquire a bat. And by acquiring a bat, I don't mean just sitting around and waiting for Aramis to come back. His bat will definitely help, but we need another guy as well. Our starting pitching can't continue to go to waste because of a horrid offense.
  8. There's that double play. Now can we please scratch a run across?
  9. Our pitching is great...we just need another bat and we'll have a pretty good team.
  10. the finals schedule was set after the Conference finals, was the NBA finals already set? they were still in the middle of their conference finals. I think the NBA Finals was set immediately after the Lakers beat the Nuggets. I remember that there was something said that the NHL was trying to schedule around the NBA Finals, and of course half of the games in the Stanley Cup Final will be played on the same night as the NBA Finals. I don't really understand why the NHL needs two days off in between games, especially when they had that weird back-to-back start to open up the series.
  11. Can't really complain about that outing at all. Nice job, Rich.
  12. So I thought Game 6 would have been on tonight seeing how Game 5 was on Saturday night and of course, there's no game to speak of. The NHL is a joke. You try to schedule your seven-game series around the NBA Finals and instead you have two days off before a possible series-clinching game as well as competing against the NBA? Real smart move there, Bettman.
  13. Yes he would. The Magic are getting terribly unlucky right now on the offensive end, although that one sequence that JJ Redick had is probably going to be the deciding factor.
  14. Terrible game, but I'll definitely take 2 out of 3 in any series.
  15. This ump's strike zone is so inconsistent...I'll take that last call though.
  16. Those Reds fans were the definition of white trash.
  17. It's a good thing we haven't seen him, but otherwise I agree. He's a complete waste of a roster spot.
  18. Good to great starting pitching. Really goes to show you how we'd be if we only had an average offense. Frustrating.
  19. Why would anyone want Rich to fail? Who knows? That makes as much sense as a Blackhawks fan openly rooting for the Red Wings.
