  1. Yes, it's a stupid idea on so many levels. First, having all RH hitters in a lineup allows the pitcher to get into a rhythm of seeing a guy step into the same batters box every time. Secondly, Fukudome is a better hitter than Nady, who doesn't have splits good enough to warrant starting him over a better player.
  2. He does have his share of puzzling moves, but I don't think you get the 14th most wins in MLB history by being a complete tool. what about the 27th most wins in MLB history? would you say someone with that many wins has to be pretty good? Bait.....
  3. Geo forgot how to hit himself. 4 for his last 28. Still, a better option than Nady especially considering Geo is going to come in the game anyway since you pinch hit for the other catcher. He's forgotten how to hit for the time being but he sure as [expletive] still knows how to walk. Dude, it's called hitting, not walking. Damnit, somebody tell Dusty to stop possessing me.

  5. The big deal is even if he takes it, you have to throw the same pitch 3-1 and probably 3-2 so you don't walk him. He didn't hit it 3-0, he would have hit it 3-1. Play to the open base and pitch to Ibanez with a fresh count.
  6. Anybody see the article about Tillman moving over to the right CB spot? Bowman is apparentely going to be the LCB because he's able to be more physical at this point. I kinda like the move. Peanut is getting up there and it's easier to replace him at RCB (typically against #2 WRs) and it's a good way to see if Bowman will sink or swim as the main guy. Plus, I still think Tillman can do a pretty good job on a lot of #2s, and if you aren't going to shut down the #1 WRs anyway, you might as well try to bump them, shutdown the #2 WRs and leave your LBs and safeties to help out on the #1 and the TE.
  7. Any chance the Wizards trade out of #1? Between Josh Howard, Nick Young, Foye, Thornton, and if they allow Arenas back the Wizards have plenty of bodies at the 1-2-3 positions where Wall and Turner play. They don't have any help upfront for Blatche and could multiple players and/or picks.
  8. Another league. Head-to-head. Points league. I give up: Ryan Howard and Clay Buchholz I get: Pablo Sandoval, Jay Bruce, and Brian Matusz I'm thinking I should accept it. Thoughts?
  9. They should start Patterson, Pie and Dubois in the OF, with Kelton, Montanez, Bobby Hill and Choi on the IF.
  10. Vitters now 11-28 in AA, with 3 doubles and a HR. Hit safely in all but 1 AA game.

    Week 7

Big game for me. My new guys are now acclimated to their new surroundings, hopefully this is a good week for me.
  12. In the past, Chicago has always had a bonafide King of the City (or two). From Jordan, to Butkus, to Payton, to Sandberg, to Sosa, and many inbetween. Now, there's no clear cut star that everyone goes to see. Hence, my poll. Also, wanted to get this in before LeBron comes to town.
  13. What does being on a bad team have to do with PER? Doesn't PER take that type of stuff into consideration. Lopez and Rose could both be top 25 players next year and going forward. Noah is good, but how much better can he get?
  14. Will never forget being hyped about Corey. When I got to see him play, I watched him hit for the cycle in low A ball. Also, remember Hee Seop Choi crushing 2 HRs in a game, including one that just landed last week. What a team that was! Patterson in CF. Choi at 1B. Kelton at 3B. Jeff Goldbach at C. Zambrano and Wuertz in the rotation. Ah, the good ol days.
  15. Well..... I don't think that's as outlandish a statement as you might think. If you go by PER for 2010, Harris was at 16.2, Lopez at 20.1. Meanwhile PER for 2010, Noah was at 17.9, Rose at 18.6. Harris has a 17.6 career PER (Rose 17.3), and was great in 2009. Brook Lopez is a wonderful player. He'll be a 20/10 player next year. He is clearly better than Noah right now, and more likely than Joakim to get better. He is also just 21 to Noah's 24. That leaves Rose vs. Harris. I think Rose is already a better player than Harris, but I think the biggest difference is that Rose is 21 and Harris is 26. Harris peaked last year, while Rose is likely just scratching the surface. If it wasn't for the 2 year age advantage (huge in basketball years) that the Bulls duo has, he would have a strong argument, especially if you prefer a dominant C over a dominant PG.
  16. I don't even know where to start with this. Elkhart is not a beautiful city, but man did it produce some girls that like to put out back in the day!
  17. I haven't chosen one, but I'm at least considering neither. In fact, the only one of the four I'm not considering is Hendry alone. I would agree that their performance to date should make both of them not feel very safe and their firing would be deserved. That doesn't make sense to me. Both deserve to be fired, but you are considering that neither should be?
  18. This is an interesting point that I think makes a lot of sense. Be kinda like the Pete Carroll situation in Seattle. A lot of former Calipari coached players around the league. And he has recruited a lot more. If no Lebron, worse case scenario, he does a sale job to other FAs and Derrick Rose gets to play for him again. I think it's a horrible idea. It's the NBA, you aren't recruiting. The majority of free agents go where there's a fit with money. Yes, but it's not unprecedented to see players go to teams that have a chance to win. This is also the biggest free agency season in the NBAs history. And with so many teams with money, best believe it's going to be a huge recruiting job by coaches and GMs.
  19. The Cubs have a strict 100 pitch maximum for all their minor leaguers. Have had for a while, so the first time Cashner throws over 100 pitches will be in a major league uniform.
  20. I understand that when two people are used to having the ball in their hands, cohesiveness may become an issue, but with Rose, I see LeBron become more of a Jordan or Kobe type of player. Sure it may take away from his assist totals, but he could score in the 35 point range per game as that would be his primary focus. Same with Wade.
