  1. Graham did hold, but it was really early in the play and I don't even know how that ref saw it. But in general, the officiating was terrible in that game.
  2. I know Hester and Knox are pusses, but why the F can't refs ever seem to see clear pass interference calls on them? I understand that Joe Buck can't see the obvious calls with his head in Aikman's lap, but this is friggin ridiculous. It happened in the NFCC game. It happened all damn day today.
  3. I agree that 1998 was a more fun season to watch than 2003 and 2008. The playoffs in 2003 were obviously much more fun, but 1998 felt pretty magical. It just had that "special" feeling like something good was going to finally happen to the Cubs. In 2003, I knew the team was loaded with talent. I think I was more stressed that season because the team was good, and I expected something bad to happen. But I also felt that 2003 was just the beginning and if the Cubs didn't do it in 2003, they'd have plenty of chances with the great young pitching and the potential of the nucleus on offense with Patterson, Choi, Aramis, Bellhorn, and Sammy still having a little left in the tank,.
  4. Pick 2: Gore vs. Cincy AJ Green vs. SF Harvin vs. Detroit
  5. Im sick of everyone thinking the Packers are God's gift to football. I get your point, but they are the reigning Superbowl champions, with the most talented roster in the league, who haven't lost a game that Aaron Rodgers has started and finished since November 2010. People have every right to think the Packers are going to kill the Bears.
  6. Give Major a break. He was pretty good last year. Didn't allow a single thing behind him last year. And actually did not miss a single tackle. Not sure what happened to him so far this year, but really his only poor play was the bomb last week. He otherwise was solid until he left the game. Still, I kinda want him to sit this week. I really want the Bears to get a good long look at Brandon Merriweather and Chris Conte at FS. Merriweather was quietly one of the best players on the Bears D in the Saints game (IMO). And I thought Conte showed some really good closing ability with the ball in the air. This those 2 could really make some plays on the ball, unlike Wright who is admittedly not a ballhawk.
  7. I'm feeling better than I probably should about this game, after feeling worse that I thought I should have vs. NO, and very confident vs. Atlanta. It's going to be tough, but I feel the outcome of this game will be largely based on who is on the field. Missing Bennett will suck, but if Roy Williams and Chris Harris can go, and Tramon Williams cannot....I like the Bears chances to pull one out. I think the key is to come out with a gameplan like the Dallas game. Don't think we are going to be able to run successfully, but getting the ball out quickly will be key. 3-step drop and throw should be the gameplan. It will slow down the pass rush. And if the Bears have success with it, the Packers will get the sense of "here we go again" with the pass D (I hope) and possibly lay off some of the pressure. Gotta pick some spots to go deep too. Whether it's 3-step drop and throw down the field or if Cutler gets a non-blitz read at the line of scrimmage and takes an occassional 7-step drop. Watch out for Merriweather to really make his prescence known this weekend for the first time as a Bear.
  8. Got Vick and McCoy vs. Jackson and Turner in my fantasy league. Was up 2 to start the game. Really wish Vick hadn't fumbled.
  9. Still, it was against the Bucs and the Chiefs. One is a middle-of-the-road team and the other is vying to be the worst in the league this season. They are not the best team in the NFC North, let alone the NFL. First of all, I said "Look like". I know damn well they aren't the best team, as does anyone with half a brain. Secondly, one team they faced won 10 games last year, the other was a playoff team from last year. Both are young teams that brought back 100% of their nucleus. If you read my posts in this thread (or any time in my 8 years on this board), you would know that I'm one of the people that knows how to keep things in perspective in a board full of "cut him", "fire him", "he sucks", "season over". So, I think I should get the benefit of the doubt that I'm not just spouting BS out of anger. Before I said that, I knew I had statistics behind my point. I don't think you're spouting BS at all. I just don't think wins over Tampa and KC should be a sign of anything other than they are very much improved and probably an 8 or 9 win team. And that's why I said they look like the best team instead of definitively saying they are the best team.
  10. a kick returner. i mean since Hester has clearly failed and the league is getting tougher on returns, we HAVE to invest in more talent there. That or a 2nd tier safety who can play special teams. Facetious, but probably 1/2 true. The Bears are probably not going to take OL in the 1st. Carimi and Webb will get another year at OT, unless they are completely terrible. And the Bears probably don't think interior OL is a first round worthy pick (considering they've never picked an C or G in the 1st). I'd like them to go for Mike Brewster to play C for the next 10 years, but if they don't, it has to be a WR. This draft is loaded at WR. FWIW, I still think this team picks between 18-25. They are not as bad as today. They can be as good as Week 1.

  12. lol the lions just played the worst team in the NFL. we'd look like the best team in the NFL against them. Too bad they didn't beat a 10-win team and completely shut them down for most of the game the week before to help my point. Wins over Bucs + Chiefs = Best in the NFL. Got it. Seriously, look at the damn stats. 5th in yards in offense (which will go up today). 12th in yards allowed defensively, which will go up today. No team will be ranked higher in both after this week.

  14. Saints still throwing? They deserve Brees to get hurt.
  15. Gonna be a long week. Unstoppable Packers coming up. Lions look like the best team in the NFL.
  16. RT, RG, and LT completely missed their blocks.
  17. Never forget!! :clapping:
  18. Watching without volume? Yeah - why would I subject myself to listen to Joe Buck? Good point. But yeah, Aikman was talking about Hester not having a catch and they put Johnny Knox on the graphic. Then he actually said, "that's not right Knox does have catches"
  19. Again, that's on the play design. Webb obviously didn't have him or he would have at least made an effort to block him.
  20. you can get a penalty for talking smack?? Is that a serious question? Give him a break, he just started watching NFL around January 2010. my Sam Mills kids size jersey from 1988 would suggest otherwise! :good: You have a point about a lot of Saints fans though. Ton of bandwagon fans. I'm sure what he said was not true. But your kids' jersey just shows that someone you knew as a kid was a football fan.
  21. Watching without volume?
  22. Can't challenge those calls. Get automatically reviewed, supposedly.
  23. WTF! Why didn't that get reviewed?
