  1. 2nd round they had us taking DJ Fluker, OT Alabama. Ogletree and Fluker would be wonderful. No complaints there. Gotta go LB/TE/OL in the top 2 rounds Or CB. Yeah I'd love to have a LT, LG, TE, LB, and CB before the second day of the draft is over (includes FAs). TE and LT could be the most signable based on availability. Actually no 3rd so 4 of 5 would be nice.

  3. Only 3 first round picks. One from 12 years ago, 1 benched from 2 different positions this year and the other doesn't look like a 3 down player. The last 2 are the last 2 firsts.
  4. I think LT is a spot where the Bears need to pay for a player. I don't know if they can afford to draft a project in the 20s and expect it to cure all the OL woes. I really like the thought of Ogletree then an OG in the 2nd. Overpay for Long, Albert or Clady.
  5. You're dreaming. Teague, Mirotic and the Charlotte pick isn't even in the ballpark to get Love. Yes, because all NBA trades are fair. If Love wants out he's gone. If he wants to play for the Bulls, he probably will. Teague is just about worthless. He's a bench player for any team. The Bobcats pick has a low chance of being decent. It is at least top 8 protected until 2016. That's a long ways away. And even a crappy team like the Bobcats can be mediocre enough to avoid the lottery once in the next 4 years. Especially if they continue to be in the lottery. Mirotic is intriguing, but he's the only piece you named that has any value. Love is signed through 2015. That's 2 more seasons after this one. This is nowhere near the Carmelo Anthony or Dwight Howard situation, and even those guys netted more than Teague and Mirotic. I'd love for them to get Love without giving up Noah and multiple picks. But I don't think it's even remotely possible. It's like going to the transactions section and reading "let's give up Darwin Barney and Brett Jackson for...." I did mention them taking Noah or Deng/Taj combo.
  6. All for a trip to either GB or SF where they've already lost.
  7. Underwood Lake Szczur
  8. Well here it is! Will the Bears end Lovies tenure? Will they be a rare 10 win team that misses the playoffs? Will they squeak into the playoffs? Honestly, expecting a win this week followed by a Calvin Johnson explosion + offensive line implosion induced season finale.
  9. He said it was his fault in the sense that he said "the ball came out of my hands, it's my responsibility". Reading between the lines and watching his answer live, it was pretty fricking clear that he didn't want to put Hester on blast. I just read the reports on Twitter. Hester was asked and he said, "I ran the route I was supposed to run". It was reported that Cutler said, "I can't make that throw against a good team" I just saw his presser a few minutes ago; you could SEE the desire to call Hester the dumbest football player he's ever played with, and that he ran the wrong route like he does for 95% of the routes he runs. I was impressed he could hold it in. Also, Brandon Marshall looked like he was going to lose his [expletive]. That was actually unsettling. Also, Matt Forte is hot [expletive] garbage, and I don't care if Michael Bush had to put on a kevlar vest; if he was active, he should have gotten the ball on 2nd and Goal. For Forte to not be able to gain 1 yard over 2 plays is a damned joke. Hester did the right thing as the play had broken down once Cutler did that pump fake, Hester was going to an open area as the DB was in front of Hester and the safeties were about 5 yards behind him. I don't like defending him as I think he needs to be cut since he can't play WR and isn't a returner anymore. This offense is a joke, They have no idea what the middle of the field looks like to any receiver. Davis, Speath, Hester, Bennett are garbage in the middle but at least try and keep them honest. Marshall, Forte, and Allen are the only ones that caught passes. I'm glad Brown was out there and looked good, hugely disappointing Carimi can't do a damn thing. Had a year to rehab and does nothing to improve his weaker upper body strength? Conte and especially Moore looked terrible. Forte isn't the same runner, doesn't want to hit the hole and can't break any tackles. Cutler can't take the next step. Brown looked good? All the sacks came when he flat out missed Matthews stunting right across his face. He got benched late in the game for Edwin Williams. Carimi got benched at RG, meaning the Bears played 4 different OGs today. Conte wasn't terrible. Rodgers is a master at looking off the safety before going where he wants with the ball. Forte has never been a "hit the hole, run over people" type of guy. He's a dancer, who waits for his spot, cuts and then goes. I agree somewhat that Cutler hasn't taken the next step, but can't really blame him. He threw for 3600 yards without Marshall at WR. He has a top 5 WR in the league and still nobody else can do anything. That's not on him unless he's blatantly ignoring them, which we know is not the case. Tice is terrible. He's making me long for Martz back.
  10. Wait, so if the Giants and Cowboys tie, the Cowboys knock them out based on division even though the division is not in play? The 3-way tie rules don't apply? Divisional rules are always applied first to eliminate teams even if the thing being decided is a wildcard spot. That's true even if there is a team from another division that is also tied. In this particular case, since the Cowboys and Redskins play, the only way the Giants could end up tied with one of them for a wildcard spot would be at 9-7. True about the East WC tie. Didn't realize that about the division rules going first when a division is not up for grabs and there is a team outside the division involved in the tie.

  13. Bears now behind Minnesota and the NFC East x 3. Washington: @ Philly, vs. Dallas Dallas: vs. NO, @ Wash NY Giants: @ Balt, vs. Philly Minnesota: @ Hou, vs. GB Bears need to win both of their games. Dallas needs to beat Washington in the finale. Houston and/or GB need to value a 1st round bye and beat Minnesota. Edit: Nevermind. Dallas actually needs to lose to NO and beat Washington. Or the Giants need to lose once. Because if Dallas and the Giants both win out, Dallas gets the division while NYG wins the conference record tiebreaker over the Bears.
  14. Conte probably has a fine coming though.
  15. Cutler says the INT was his fault. Took the high road about the OPI calls. Says he didn't want to get fined. But also said that's not what lost the team the game (he's right).

  17. That's the thing. You don't want to rock the boat on defense too much because the defense is good enough. And they have enough older guys on D that you might not be able to teach them "new tricks" so to speak. The problem with that is this is Lovie's defense. Maybe you can keep Marinelli and bring in an offensive coach/staff, but that's a longshot.
  18. That makes no sense. Refs don't make calls based on reputation. is there any other way to explain today though? jeffrey was obviously being targeted for this stuff. He was being targeted after the sideline call that he got, because GB complained about it. But they aren't going to go seeking out penalties on him next week.
  19. Why not? Blatant PI every time. If those are called every time, there would be about 25 OPIs a game. The last OPI was legit. The first 2 were weak. The one in the endzone was a no-call at best.
  20. That makes no sense. Refs don't make calls based on reputation.
  21. His chest that was turned to his side because the DB was blatantly holding him.
  22. The CB was beat and tried to interfere on that play. I'm so pissed.
  23. THIS IS [expletive]. TERRIBLE [expletive] OFFICIATING.
  24. That was a good call on Jeffery. Can't do that [expletive].
