  1. Soto's ball was 390 feet to dead center. The ball doesn't carry great in this park, but there's a lot of parks that's not out in. It was 390 feet because it died in the air. That's gone most other parks. I think I'm going to need to see a fan graph.
  2. Can you imagine if your team built this park? Oof.
  3. Honestly, this was one of my first thoughts after last nights game. Me too.
  4. The playoffs are a crap shoot. You are boiling down a 162 game season to 5 or 7 game series. There is going to be a lot of varience there. I wouldn't look to much into past results. Everyone was surprised that the Cubs got swept last year. Well, they got swept by the Marlins in the series a week before the playoffs started. This Cubs team is very good. Barring injuries, they are going to be the clear favorites in the NL. That is being a realist. That being said, I'd love to pick up a front line starter; as would basically everyone. It is, however, by no means necessary for playoff success.
  5. I thought we were keeping all your stupid crap in one thread, no?
  6. God, I can't believe we traded him. Could really use the help with this 3 run deficit. Ok, 2 run deficit. From my calculations, we'd be up 66 to 3 right now if he was on the team.
  7. Eh, they had a homer by Omar Quintalinia. They can't bitch too much about the wind. I'm not complaining. It's pretty clear they are intentionally trying to go to right today against Rusch. It sure looks like it. Soriano went to right in the first inning as well.
  8. Dempster would walk the lineup if they would let him. I've been very impressed with Dempster this year, but he's been giving up way too many walks (and a lot of them to crappy teams/batters) all season for it to not eventually bite him hard. He has been ok, but if we get to the playoffs and are using him in the rotation we will be in trouble. huh?
  9. I wish I had seen his 8th today. 3 k's looking in 10 pitches?
  10. i don't know, bobby jenks is real real good. and he's got way more saves than marmol. plus he won a world series. come back and tell me that when marmol has a few years of closing out games under his belt, then they can be comparable. saves are way more important than whatever it is that marmol does. there, is that a good sox fan impression or what? You should also add, "has Marmol ever set his own arm on fire? No. Case closed." And, "Damn, I'm drunk. I better get done beating my wife. It's late and I have a busy day pouring concrete tomorrow."
  11. Do you really believe this trash? Wow. It's probably technically true. Not really.
  12. According to BP, he was an abysmal +18 LFer last year.
  13. Do you really believe this trash? Wow.
  14. Please stop this while you still have a shred of dignity left.
  15. I got into an argument with a dude in the bleachers over that sac bunt. Let your number 5 guy swing away. It was a good game, but I was not happy to see him squaring around with Soto and DeRosa coming up next.
