  1. Dear Cobs, Please win. Thank you.
  2. Ick. I need to pitch better than this.
  3. And now our lineup looks crappy 1 batter does not a lineup make.
  4. That's not good. I hope everything turns out okay for him and his family.
  5. A perfect first inning for me! 8-)
  6. So does Gameday. My guess is Floyd was a late scratch. He probably hurt something again. Edit: And Bruce beat me to it.
  7. Dear Cobs, Please light up Cormier again. Anything less than 5 runs is unacceptable. Thank you.
  8. Would be nice if the Yankees could've taken the lead while Mussina was still in the game. Thanks for screwing my fantasy team out of an extra 10 points, Yankees.
  9. At least the rest of the bullpen has started to pitch decently. This stinks though.
  10. Unfortunately, Guzman won't be throwing for another two weeks. I forget what the injury is. :(
  11. And a 1/2 game picked up on the Brewers. :D If the Reds can hold on to their lead (gulp) we can also pick up a game on the Cards! Their bullpen has been worse than the Cubs' this year!
  12. Lou said they might have to call up an infielder PATTERSON!!! More likely Fontenot or Cedeno, since they're both on the 40-man.
  13. I can't remember his name, but the last Cubs pitcher to throw a no-hitter, which was sometime in the '70s, lost a perfect game on a 3-2 count with 2 outs in the 9th.
  14. Cubs fans are never happy. The Cubs could win the World Series and there would still be complaining going on here. Would you still be complaining about the complainers? I would've preferred Moustakas/Heywood/Wieters, but let's not lose sight of the fact of the uncertainty here. This isn't free agency where we have a pretty good idea who's going to give you what, there's a crapload of variability in how these guys are going to turn out. I wasn't complaining.
  15. Cubs fans are never happy. The Cubs could win the World Series and there would still be complaining going on here. No, there wouldn't. Cubs fans are never happy because the Cubs never do the right thing and never win. QFT. I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be much complaining going on if the Cubs just won the World Series. OK. So I exaggerated. I still made my point though.
  16. Cubs fans are never happy. The Cubs could win the World Series and there would still be complaining going on here.
  17. They're Cubs fans. They have to complain about something.
  18. The Marlins are better than the Cubs. Come on, you knew someone was going to say it.
  19. Z's "new" 2007 stats: 1-0, 2.90 ERA, 1.29 WHIP Not bad.
  20. considering that team's horrendous 242/298/328/627 line, i'm not surprised that no offensive players made it. That line is very offensive.
  21. He hit 96, I believe. I saw 97 on at least one pitch, but I never noticed him getting up to 98. Were you at the game or watching the Brewers cast? WGN doesn't show the velocity. WGN\WAS showing velocity.. They showed the velocity sometimes. It seemed like it was completely random on whether or not they would show it.
  22. Last night they mentioned something about fireworks for HR's. Do they even do that there? They do. Saw it myself Monday night. That was the smoke from Lou's cigar. I forsee Z holding up to his promise, hitting 107 on the gun on the first pitch as his arm comes out socket and spins around like a pinwheel. The ball goes straight through Barrett's glove and rips his head clean off. The Cubs then go on to win handily. With this bullpen? Yeah, right.
  23. Ick. Those are some ugly numbers.
