  1. 65% Dusty 35% Hendry I won't even rehash the innumberable reasons why Dusty is more to blame than Hendry again in this thread. Go back a few pages, it's all there. (or as much of it as I felt like typing out) and its not hendrys fault that he can bring up all the good young talent he wants (cedeno) but Baker wont play a darned one. He was hitting .370 something in the minors this year.
  2. Alright, Walker, Hairston, and Burnitz due up. Let's get something going, please.
  3. I think we've got a good one in the booth. for interim, i'd think they'd go with Rothschild, but i sure wouldn't mind Brenly as the manager down the line. At least he seems like a guy that would actually have Hairston and Walker 1-2 in the lineup every day. He has at least won a World Series.
  4. Bhogg, as the game thread pimp, you should make a spot start to get the Cubs out of their losing streak. You stopped the 7-game losing streak earlier in the season.
  5. I think we've got a good one in the booth.
  6. What are some of your favorite quotes from Cubs or about the Cubs? I like the one in my sig. (the second quote  )
  7. If by good offense in 2003 you mean by watching the likes of Hee Seop Choi, Bobby Hill, Alex Gonzalez, Lenny Harris, and Damian Miller all in the starting lineup at the same time, well then yes, by all means we had a good offense. And Randall Simon, Tom Goodwin and Paul Bako on the bench. My Lord, how did we get anywhere? Pitching, Sammy Sosa, and Aramis Ramirez.
  8. Hollandsworth hit a single up the middle, Burnitz took a wide turn around second, slipped, and was caught in a rundown.
  9. did you jinx us? I blame you!!!!! Yeah, it's my fault Neifi left 6 OB! Play Cedeno. What is it going to take to get it through Dusty's head that Neifi's cooled off.
  10. Oh, I forgot to mention. Party in the flashchat tomorrow, too.
  11. Well, guess what? We suck, but that's OK. Cubs fans are used to their team losing, right? In my game thread debut, we lost 15-5. I believe that is the most runs an opposing team has scored on us this season. But enough about the past. On to the game. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/118120.jpg Greg Maddux (7-5, 4.87) http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/430638.jpg Roman Colon (0-4, 6.30) We have a 312-game winner nearing the end of his hall of fame career going up against part of the digestive system. That part of the digestive system has a 6.30 ERA this season and 2 career major league victories.
  12. This is pathetic. The Cubs have not won since I last went to a game. That was Wednesday. This team is really starting to depress me.
  13. Lee's not used to batting with runners on base, so he's not sure what to do.
  14. Are we going to party in the flashchat this evening?
  15. I don't think anyone's mentioned this site yet. http://www.baseball-fever.com/ I'm otis89 over there, and there's a cool thread where they post a picture of someone that played for the Cubs, and you guess who it is.
  16. I'm going to say the Cardinals have been shutout twice. Edit: I checked and I'm wrong.
  17. Corey has 11 HRs.
  18. He has an out clause after two years so it's not like it was a horribly stupid move. It's not like he'd exercise that clause. He did say he wants to remain a Cub for the rest of his life.
