  1. Nothing like waking up to baseball. :D Unfortunately, I have to go to school tomorrow, so I'll miss it. :( On the other hand, I have been coughing a ton this week.... It's written in the sky: if you take sick time off, they'll suck and make you wish you hadn't. It's a win-win situation though. If I go to school, the Cubs win, but if I stay home from school and the Cubs lose, I still missed school.

  4. Nice to see the Cards implode, but couldn't they at least beat the Brewers and help the Cubs? Wait a minute, am I trying to convince myself that the Cubs actually have a shot at this? Hehe, yeah I'm still hoping the Crew will slow down over the Summer. I hope no one minds a little rain delay hijack of the Cubs thread: Crew take the lead on a Jenkins single. Mench with the sac fly.....4-2 Milw How can you hijack a thread that's already been hijacked?
  5. Yep! I thought of that, too, but I started reading this thread and forgot about it.
  6. But...but...but...Pujols is perfect. He never makes mistakes.

  8. Sure thing.. I'll just sit back and watch Braden Looper shut out the Brewers. He can't possibly keep this up, can he? What's the most innings he's thrown in one season in his career? 86 in 2002. He's up to 35 this season. He's going to have to break down eventually. No way can he pitch twice as many innings as he ever has before in the majors.
  9. Sure thing.. I'll just sit back and watch Braden Looper shut out the Brewers. He can't possibly keep this up, can he? What's the most innings he's thrown in one season in his career? i prefer him to keep it up at least for tonight against the brewers and viewer beware a bartman clip will be shown on this rain delay... Yeah, if the Cardinals and the Cubs both win, they both gain a game on the Brewers, but I still want the Cardinals to do bad. Also, I don't get CSN for some stupid reason, so I won't get to see the Bartman clip. (Like I haven't already seen it 5,680,238,412 times.)

  11. I think they changed the rule this year and the game would be suspended until tomorrow. At least that's what I'm hoping... Guzman 7R 3IP I'm gonna head down to Iowa and set Gooz straight. Dang. I'm not with it tonight. I was about to ask what's so bad about 3 runs in 7 innings.
  12. It actually looks like it's moving fairly fast. I'm optimistic that they'll get the game in.
  13. Ugh. I gave up 5 earned runs in 5 innings today.
  14. Any lineup that includes Izturis is a bad lineup if you ask me. What about... CF Beltran C Mauer 1B Pujols DH Hafner 3B ARod LF Manny RF Vlad 2B Utley SS Izturis ? That lineup is bad for two reasons. There is a DH and there is Izturis Swap in Z or Marquis for Hafner then.
  15. I'm no Tom Skilling but the radar looks like its moving past Pittsburgh??? http://www.weather.com/weather/map/15222?from=36hr_svrWatch_golf The radar also hasn't been updated in 10 minutes, and, believe it or not, radars aren't always accurate.
  16. Izturis has owned Armas in his career. That being established, he'll go 0-4 with 3 Ks and a ground-out today.
  17. because then they would be more than 2 standard deviations from the norm. correct? Correct.
  18. *Warning: I am going to sound like a nerd in this post.* It's actually not unusual for a playoff team to finish April 3 or more games under .500. According to the Statistics class I'm taking, things are unusual only if they occur less than 5% of the time. :P
  19. Too worn out to fight...And it's only April! According to ESPN.com, only 5.6% of teams in the last 25 years to finish April 3 games or more under .500. Huh? Am I missing something here? Only 5.6% of playoff teams in the last 25 years finished 3 games or more under .500 in April. Ah. I wondered if CT left out an important word.

  21. Armas' numbers are only BARELY better than Eyre's. Every time a player swings at a first pitch, he should drop for 20 pushups on the spot. PLEASE don't choke cubs. Only if they don't get an XBH. I wouldn't mind Lee or Aramis swinging at a first pitch if they can take it out of the park. Exactly. I don't hate swinging at the first pitch when it accomplishes something, but constantly swinging at the first pitch and grounding weakly to second or short gets on my nerves.
  22. Go me! I wish I knew what my problem was this season. I'm off to a pretty bad start. :(
  23. Dear Cubs, Armas has an ERA over 11. Don't let him own you. Thank you.
  24. Yeah. My team sucks.
