  1. I wonder when Torre will pull Wang.
  2. The flashing light guy gave a great effort.
  3. Yeah they have a few championships on us to say the least. Pay no attention to any team not in the playoffs. Anything positive and Cubs-based.
  4. I think one was the bullpen catcher Corey Miller?
  5. The old blue hairs in the twin cities don't seem to like anything new or any form of change in this town. I'd love to see it but as usual people will complain.
  6. Did he really say "the cy young better go to Big Z"?
  7. 'Cause he's shut us out ??? Right. But why aren't the Astros trying the same approach? They don't care anymore. We eliminated them yesterday. Why do people always have to shut down my conspiracy theories with their facts? "The truth is more important than the facts." 8-)
  8. 'Cause he's shut us out ??? Right. But why aren't the Astros trying the same approach?
  9. Why can't the Reds throw a rookie at us with a 11.25 like the Astros are using against the Brewers?
  10. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardinals-Cubs_rivalry and expand the Cards and Cubs boxes at the bottom of the article. The Cards basically have an article for every season they have ever played. Now look at all the redlinks for the Cubs seasons. Even the White Sox have some great wikipedia articles. The Cubs just lack it and I don't understand it. Now I'm always a big fan of quality over quantity and the Cubs articles have been getting a little better, but there is some work that is sorely needed for the Cubs on wikipedia. Even the article I linked to is pretty weak. Not a lot of moments outside of the HR chase. It doesn't even mention the Sandberg game. I'm just saying if anyone likes wikipedia and has any spare time try giving the Cubs articles some much needed help (with supporting sources of course). The following is an awesome article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_Chicago_Cubs_season
  11. as seen on CardsTalk. 400 seems pretty generous. - Do the vendors even bother to show up? - Do TV stations waste their time, or would they just make like WGN and show reruns of Moesha instead? - It would be awesome to show up and either cheer at the top of my lungs for the home team, or heckle the crap out of the visitors and umpires for three hours straight. - Maybe the owner has been losing on purpose in order to drive attendance down, get out of the stadium contract, and move the team to Cleveland. Haha, that's awesome. Fredi Gonzalez: [at a team meeting] Can I have your attention, please? [picks up a bat and leans on it like a walking stick] Fredi Gonzalez: I have something I think you all ought to know about. It seems that the owner doesn't think too highly of our worth. He put this team together because he thought we'd be bad enough to finish dead last, knocking attendance down to the point where he could move the team to Cleveland... and get rid of all of us for better personnel. Sergio Mitre: Even me? Fredi Gonzalez: Even you, Serg. Dan Uggla: What if we DON'T finish last? Fredi Gonzalez: He'll REPLACE you with somebody who WILL. After this season, you'll be sent back to the minors or given your outright release. Dontrelle Willis: [D-Train stands up] Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do. Hanley Ramirez: What's that? Dontrelle Willis: Win the whole bleep thing. [long pause] Miguel Cabrera: [Miguel stands up] Dude we're already mathematically eliminated. Dontrelle Willis: I got nothin'.

  13. At least that can end all the "innocent till proven guilty" defenses now. Admission of guilt.
  14. Flat brim in baseball can help your field of vision. Wearing it that way outside of sports is just plain douchery.
  15. Perhaps Cub's losses can be attributed to this particular bender? How about switching to Popeye's?
  16. I'm just saying Ward is due for a homerun soon.
  17. Lee probably went in the dugout and said, "See what happens when we take pitches?!"
  18. Too much red there today already. http://img517.imageshack.us/my.php?image=readylk4.jpg
  19. At least it's over with. The bad news is Simpsonizeme can't to Z justice: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1066/zsfu5.jpg
  20. Blocked at my work too. Looks like they ditched EZboard and went somewhere else.
