  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2509719 Who would have thought Golden League Baseball could be more entertaining than the Cubs?

  3. Thanks for all the kind comments! Who wants is to save?
  4. Mabry walks alot 4BB's in one game though is extremely rare for a Cubs team; I bet that's close to a single game high for the year. oh Fred....
  5. Prediction: Cubs hit 2 GS's in the top of the 9th and Dempster blows the game by giving up one of his own in the bottom half.
  6. speaking of the Crawford boxes, Pierre now a HR away from the cycle.
  7. Would it be worth sending him back down to Triple A to regain his confidence? Or see if he can fight through it? Is it worth seeing Neifi start?
  8. You're nuts. Hendry has tweaked it three years in a row. That much tweaking can only result in awesome execution, or a rash. Our bullpen isn't as bad as it's been in recent years, but when it's over used and mis-used I don't see how stuff like this isn't expected. Some guys pitch several games in a row, and others will sit for days and even weeks. Baker's game management as a whole sucks. NSBB's motto!
  9. I'm not so sure. I don't think its clear even from the replay that Ronny got the bag with his foot. The point is, players get the call lots of times even if their foot never gets within a 10 inch radius of the bag. That was never the point. I quoted the wrong post  I meant to quote texascub's post about the FSN SW replays. Players might get that call from time to time, but you certainly can't rely on always getting that call. It's called fundamentals; if you get your foot clearly on the bag, you don't even need to worry about which way the call is going to go. Well I think it's obvious that most shortstops or second basemen turning the DP are more concentrated on getting the throw to first rather than stepping of second. And rightfully so because fundamentals are things that should come 2nd nature by the time you reach the big leagues. He needs to know where he is on the field and be able to make the play. I'd expect a big league SS/2B to know how to find the bag without looking for it, and be able to pick up the runner and his target as he's moving. I just don't think the players turning the DP actually EVER think about hitting second, and the runner is rarely called safe at 2nd as he was today. That's what I'm trying to get at; by the time he gets here he shouldn't need to think about it, it should just come as 2nd nature. You're right it should be, and that is what makes the call so appalling. A lot of times when I watch DPs I can see very clearly that the DP turner (if you will) has dragged himself off the bag before he recieves the ball. OT: Our BP sucks
