Because Valbuena and LaHair do not deserve to play, especially against a left handed starting pitcher. I think he meant why is Baker playing RF and Mather playing 3rd. Mather is brutal at 3rd. Yes. Mather is a better outfielder and Baker is a better third baseman.

Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of Cubs games take the same form? Especially at Wrigley. DeJesus almost ALWAYS leads off the bottom of the 1st with a hit and the Cubs get a few runs early and then basically stop scoring. Kind of strange.
