  1. Nats TV crew accusing Joe West of overruling NY on the Espinosa review last night... hmm...
  2. I can't believe how many breaks we got tonight, but honestly for the throw beating him by that much, he should be out anyway, and that's probably why the Nats didn't throw much of a fit.
  3. I know hindsight is 20/20 but why not let Lake take that AB? Swinging it well, more likely to beat out a DP, and you don't sacrifice defense.
  4. If Lake can continue hitting doubles and driving the ball to right field, he might be able to steal more starts in LF when Soler comes back.
  5. Good morning everyone. I'd like to start off my game thread with an apology. I know I've been a bad poster for awhile now - a "meatball", a knee-jerk reactor, an over-reactor, the list goes on. I'm guilty of using these game threads as a venting outlet and although I know I'm not alone, I understand that this is not their purpose. So, today (for real) I am turning over a new leaf. From this point forward, all of my posts are going to be level-headed, researched (if I throw out stats), and free of expletives. Like with anyone, I'm sure you won't always agree with my opinion, but I'm vowing to no longer overlap "opinion" with "emotional spewing." It's June 3rd, the Cubs are 4 games over .500, and we should all be thrilled with that. On to the game at hand... The Cubs go with Jon Lester, who has gone at least 7 innings in 5 of his last 6 starts... http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/4d5b36cc4d4df0946aad6326798f74523994ac27/c=0-640-2975-2877&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/2015/05/16/USATODAY/USATODAY/635674020164025923-USP-MLB-PITTSBURGH-PIRATES-AT-CHICAGO-CUBS-73094258.JPG The Marlins counter with Dan Haren, also known as the guy the Cubs almost acquired for Carlos Marmol. Despite having an ERA over 4 each year since 2011, he's been good this year with a 5-2 record, a 3.03 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP... http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/lhgwqj/picture18608271/ALTERNATES/FREE_960/Marlns%20Braves%20Baseball It would be nice to win this series heading into a 4 gamer in D.C. and I think Lester gets it done. 5-2, Cubs. Rizzo goes deep, Bryant walks twice, and Rondon goes 1-2-3 for the save. Go Cubs!
  6. Dumb game all around, let's pretend it never happened.
  7. If the first 2 guys make outs, I say we let Jackson bat.
  8. Our cavernous fly balls cannot find gaps, why?
  9. If they can't come back, tomorrow is a HUGE game going into 4 in D.C.
  10. Is that not hits FOR? Edit: I guess not. I stand corrected.
  11. I knew Starlin walking twice in a game was too good to be true. NEED to get the run in here.
  12. Another solid AB for Lake. They're adding up.
  13. Without question they lead the league in hits allowed to the opposing pitcher, and have for several years. Wait, you actually looked this up? does that sound like an actual fact to you or just some aramis fan horse [expletive]? The latter, obviously, but I wanted to call him out on it. Not sure where I'd look it up, but I am almost 100% sure it is true.
