    Guess you can say he was a pleasant surprise :) I don't know about that. He still has had problems allowing rookies to adjust to the bigs... Pie had almost no chance at all, and Fukudome getting benched with the lead we have in the division was just plain stupid. And there's no doubting that he's made plenty of stupid in-game moves... and they seem to come more often in games he deems critical, which makes me nervous about seeing Soto trying to bunt again during the playoffs. He's been better than I expected, but he hasn't been fantastic. Hard to fault him benching Fukudome. He flat out sucked in the 2nd half, He needed a breather. Lou has surprised me, and we should give props to Gerald Perry also.

    Good point. The nearest deli does sell beer. I could grab one at lunch and keep it in the fridge. Although I think I had about 80-90 beers this weekend and 5 shots of tequila, some of that has to to still be in my system. Maybe I shouldn't push it. Sounds like my Thursday day\night expect it was Jameson and not tequila. Friday and Saturday I stuck with Beers.

    I expect my lineup will be something like this: Pre-game 2 beers 1st inning 1 beer 2nd inning 1 beer 3rd inning 1 beer 1 hot dog 4th inning 1 beer 5th inning 1 beer 1 food item TBD 6th inning 2 beers 7th inning 2 beers hopefully carrying me over to the 8th and 9th. The pre-game is a bit weak.

    Seconded. I keep checking my email every 5 minutes. I have a feeling I don't get selected, but I'm really nervous regardless. If you get selected, which game will you guys pick (1,2 or 5)? I'm selecting games one or two. I don't think I could handle the stress of a game five while sitting at Wrigley. Just keep drinking...

    Berkman is just mad that the camera caught him wetting his pants and scurrying to the dugout because of the thunder. I love that he threw off his chain, too. And you didn't "play through" the storm, Lance. He's such a douche.

    I don't think anyone would classify it as a "pump-up song." If that's what you were expecting, I could see why you'd be disappointed. I guess your right. Ive been a long time Pesarl Jam fan, and I guess when I heard Vedder was writing a song for the Cubs, I was expecting more of an Evenflow or Hail Hail than a Black or Elderly Woman. Wouldn't feel right for the Cubs. A good old fashion sing-along-folksy-type of song is just right for the Cubs. btw - I can't find the live version of it that Vedder recently did. They took it down on bleedcubbieblue.com. damn...
