  1. Maybe after 4 years and a couple of titles lebron will find a team he can lead. He has a out clause in 4 years. Perhaps he lacks the confidence to gain a title with him being the focus and that will change when he wins a couple. Just trying to figure him out...
  2. I don't think they will. This worries me. The owner is like 140 years old and is worth 4 billion dollars. Money is no object for him.
  3. Just waiting on JJ. I think magic will match.
  4. No way this happens:
  5. Magic just signed Q.Richardson. Hopefully this is who will replace Redick.
  6. Didn't Yanr did that wayyyy back in the day? DaveMason10k from the old ESPN.com board was banned for that trick about a week after I joined. He was under another name and had several thousand posts before revealing himself and was immediately banned. Breaking News! HAHA! Yes, I remember him.
  7. It happened one other time here, but I can't remember who it was.
  8. I gotta know if redflash is a homer or not!?!?!?
  9. [expletive] them man!!!!!!! *preparing to buy tickets when they come here* oh man, i know. tickets down here were impossible to get for the lakers and cavs the last two years, but i can't imagine when the heat come to town. they are going to cost a fortune if you scalp!

  11. I don't see the magic paying 14M for Redick.... "Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith told the Orlando Sentinel early Saturday he "anticipates" matching the Bulls' three-year, $19 million offer to restricted free agent J.J. Redick. The Magic have seven days to match the offer, which the Tribune reported is front-loaded at $7 million. With the Magic already in luxury tax territory, matching that offer would cost the Magic a dollar-for-dollar penalty and a total of $14 million. "I anticipate us doing it, but I'm not sure," Smith told the Sentinel. "It's too early. We'll talk about it." The Bulls' $7 million of salary-cap space representing the first year of the Redick offer is tied into the offer until the Magic either chooses to match it or not. But the Bulls feel other shooting guard targets like Ronnie Brewer or Keith Bogans will be available seven days from now, when the Magic make their final decision. Redick, the 11th pick in the 2006 draft, made a little over $3 million last season."
  12. not unless they make a trade to clear up some salary. I'm pretty sure they are in luxury taxville. if they match the bulls offer of 7 million that first year, they'll end up paying him 12-13 million dollars once you factor in the lux tax. They have 6 days....
  13. It's not so much that he left Cleveland, it's how he left Cleveland. Which wasn't very business-like.
  14. Riley didn't have anything to do with it. It was former Olympic teammates making a pact to play together 2 years ago. He had to make it possible for it to happen, and keep Wade in Miami. Wade was staying all along. If you read everything between the lines, I think it's obvious that they decided on this a couple of years ago. obviously
  15. So again, he needs to get good teammates, but they can't be too good. It's an absurd argument. The even more absurd part is that he's not allowed to team up with a guy like Wade, because that would tarnish his attempt to get on the same level as Jordan or Magic Johnson, neither of whom ever won a title without another HOFer in their major contributing years. That's not the same. If Jordan joined the lakers in his prime that would be more like this situation. I think what we can take out of all this is Lebron isn't comfortable being "the man". I think he has no problem playing second fiddle to Wade.
  16. Dan Gilbert has a jillion dollars and can't find a font that isn't reminiscent of a Geocites page? Guy in the ESPN chat said it looks like an invite to a picnic. http://bancomicsans.com/ I am unapologetic for my love of Comic Sans. He'll ya! http://www.mcsweeneys.net/links/monologues/15comicsans.html
  17. Baring injury it's impossible for them not to win multiple championships.
  18. what a puss.
  19. Is this real? Cause if it is, I can't imagine New Jersey being thrill that Jay-Z (part owner of the Nets) bought season tickets from the Heat. LOL! No [expletive] way is that real!
  20. When I read that earlier first thought was, "Lebron doesn't need to reserve cabanas in advance at the W." Exactly! I thought the exact same thing. It's laughable.
  21. I'm going with the Heat tonight. Even though the Bulls make too much sense.
  22. I'm pretty sure that goes for everyone except people from Miami.
  23. Lebron will be "the man". He's the global icon. Not in Miami. Who cares??!?
