  1. PLEASE LET WOODY HOLD UP THIS YEAR. I can't wait to see him coming outta the pen throwing BB's!
  2. It's called PASSION! No it's called overreacting/total lack of baseball perspective. It's spring training, and means little. Particularly, for a pitcher injured for the majority of 2 years. As long as has normal soreness, and isn't hurt, today was a good day. If he's throwing 85 at the end of ST, then worry. It's part of the fan base. Go to Boston and NY message board and you'll get the same thing...Cubs fans are passionate. Passion is fine. Thinking the man is done pitching after 40 pitches in his first ST game in 2 years after 2 years of being away with injuries, is a little different than passion. I love this team with tons of passion. I'm just not going to meltdown due to one bad outing by Prior. Let's see how he progresses through ST. Good for you...

  4. You might be right. Why do people insist on pretending the 48 starts in 2004 and 2005 didn't happen? If he "just broke down" after his one great year, then how did he manage to put together an ERA+ of 116 and 113 in those years? I don't think anyones pretending, but when you're topping out at 83-85 MPH for a fastball pitcher, you are going to have concerns.
  5. It's called PASSION! no, it's called overreacting It's called not winning in almost 100 years. So yea, you might get some people overreacting.
  6. LOL! You gotta love Wood. He can pitch in the 90's on his knee's.
  7. What else does the announcers have to talk about...It's not there's anything to talk about with their team.
  8. Yeah, he had a relief appearance. How did he throw http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/stats/sortable_player_stats.jsp?c_id=chc
  9. Yeah because Beltre was such a deal...
  10. yeah things arent looking good. angel is probably a lot better than prior right now Who isn't better then Prior right now?
  11. Holy smokes. I just cant believe that. How long does it take for full velocity to come back? Where's Will Carroll when you need him? I can't imagine anyone is throwing 100 mph already. Samardjiza hit 97, didn't he? Everyones different. Wanna bet Wood hits at least 93 today?
  12. I think someone posted that he was throwing 83-85 mph.
  13. Prior was only throwing 83-85 MPH!!!!!!!
  14. LOL, I was just thinking that. Lou's coming to get him! Give him a kiss lou.
  15. I wouldn't have expected his good stuff. I'm just hoping he's able to make his next start. I was hoping for at least a glimmer of his old self.
  16. 25 in the first.ewww I hope this is just preseason rust Hopefully!
  17. It's his first start in spring training after having two years of injuries. I'd expect that he'd be a little rusty agreed Prior's done!
  18. MLB.com has just been remarkably, pathetically bad at letting subscribers & potential subscribers know what the heck is going on. You have to scrounge around to find a broadcast schedule and even then you can't be certain that the schedule is accurate. So is it on MLB.TV or not?
  19. Here's hoping that Prior and Wood pitch well, pain-free, and can pitch again after today....
  20. We stink...Pack it in and hope for better results in 2008...
