  1. I'm right with Lou. time to flip on a movie and enjoy some Wine and\or Scotch.
  2. I feel good about today! We are going to win this and sweep the series.
  3. Both teams were so hot that they were bound to cool off. It's strange that the both cooled off at the exact same time. And the Cardinals have proved that they have no intention of crawling back into the race. It looks like most of the top NL teams have hit a funk. in the last 10 games, Cubs, Brewers, Phillies, and Dodgers are all 5-5, and the D Bags are 3-7. Only the Mets are doing OK for themselves at 7-3. And we are stilled tied for the most wins in baseball. Just shows you how much we kicked ass in August!
  4. Advantage Cubs. Let's just keep it that way with a few wins. For sure. Brewerfan.net is in mentdown mode. 8-) "I admit that I am in full panic mode right now. I really think we are going to blow this playoff spot. With Peavy going on Saturday we will be lucky to split this series and if we somehow lose with CC pitching tomorrow night this team could really fall aprt in a hurry. I truly fear the road trip especially the games in Philly and Chicago. If we dont make the playoffs this year I dont think we ever will and that is sad". "I will only add that if this teams blows a playoff spot this year, I will not be renewing my season tickets for next year. 15 years of season tickets w/o the playoffs is my limit. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me 15 times...well, I don't even know how to respond to that one". It's easier to see what a fan over-reaction looks like when it is someone else's fans. I agree with C.C. -- both teams were due for a cool-off. I don't think it's anything more than that at the moment. It's tough for the Brewers because they fought so damn hard for virtually nothing. They had an amazing run in August and gained nothing. While we have not really gained any ground in the divison, we did increase the wild card lead, so it was for something. Very true.

  7. All we have to do is split the series. The pressure is on the Brewers, they have to sweep or at worst take the series.
  8. Reeling? LOL, the team has lost 5 games in a row for the first time all year, yet they still have a 4.5 games lead because the brewers have also been swept, but they are reeling. Whatever. If the Cubs only go .500 this month, the Phillies can't lose 3 games! They are going to the playoffs people. Hell, the Cubs are off tonight and the onous is on the Brewers and Phillies to win because the magic number reduces if they don't. These writers tick me off. Yeah, that wasn't real. LOL, well it got me. That's not too far off from some of the other crap I've been reading online... It had me until the "potentially devastating blow" part.

No, no that was fake. The reaction by 98navigator is funny.
  10. Says Hendry in the Trib article. So, no Howry on the playoff roster then? I don't like him only missing 1 turn?!?! No reason to rush him back.
  11. huh? All I'm saying is, if Z isn't 100%, which he probably won't be, is that still better than Lilly when it comes to the NLDS? I gotcha! Lilly's going to pitch somewhere in the series.
  12. I agree. But once we get into the playoffs, and especially if it gets deep in the NLCS again, I don't care if these guys' arms fall off. Seriously, I would trade Z and Harden for a championship. I'd trade my left testicle for a championship.
  13. I want him to have 2 starts before the playoffs if at all possible. Also, this is a GREAT excuse to have him pitch 3rd in our playoff rotation after Harden and Dempster, if people still want that. Z can return on 9/23 against the Mets (a 21 day break between starts) and pitch again in the season finale in Milwaukee. He would then have 5 days between that game and game 3 of the NLDS. 9/28 - Z pitches at MIL 9/29 - Off 9/30 - Game 1 10/1 - Game 2 10/2 - Off 10/3 - Z pitches in game 3 Sounds good to me. Hell, I'd give him 1 start and if he needs work do it on the side.
  14. Am I crazy or would the Houston series = only missing one start... I'd sure rather wait a little and have him get about two tune-up starts in before the playoffs. You're right that is only 1 start. Those dates have to be wrong.
  15. I'm not surprised. I honestly didn't feel it was anything season ending.
  16. Why even bring him back 12-14? Rest him longer.
  17. Same here. I never read the paper when they are losing. just pisses me off more.
  18. I mean c'mon, Z's been doing this for years. I'm sure his teammates don't like it, but it is what it is. Is this really a new development?
  19. Estes vs. Suppan I can't imagine how bad the Brewers are going to beat up Estes.
  20. It's one of two things... Z feels find and doesn't want the test because he'd miss a couple of starts. Z doesn't feel fine and doesn't want the to take the test because he doesn't want the test to reveal anything that would keep him out of the playoffs. I can see Z gutting out any injury for the playoffs. You'd have to rip off Z right arm to miss the playoffs...
  21. The Natspos might have saved our season! 2/3 from the Phillies right? If the Phillies sweep like they should, we are 7 games up on the WC and starting to get a little nervous. Our worst slump of the year and teams are helping us out. You gotta love it.
