  1. If you can guarantee me Soto, Vlad, or Tucker I want Belli to opt out so bad. If not, he might be our best option for a bat (115 wRC+ isn’t terrible) and offers nice defensive flexibility. Won’t feel great about the offense with our only addition being a catcher, though.
  2. If he put up a 97 wRC+ over a full season, that might be a 6 fWAR year.
  3. He’s never going to have even a “good” BB rate. He is just so aggressive. And pitchers definitely don’t want to walk him and allow him to steal 2nd. As he continues to pound the ball for XBH, the scouting report will evolve and pitchers will get more careful with him. It’ll be up to him to make the necessary adjustment and hopefully take some walks. I’m excited to watch his evolution.
  4. Can someone remind the Cubs that this is the worst bullpen in the league and they should be pummeling it?
  5. Let’s not do anything to make JD leave. He must be protected at all costs.
  6. On pace for 84 wins if they continue on the .600 winning % pace they’ve been playing at. Don’t think that will be good enough to overtake one of Atlanta, San Diego, or Arizona, but it could make things interesting at least. Though if Milwaukee plays at a .400 pace the rest of the season, they will end with 83 wins. Maybe they pull a September 2023 Cubs.
  7. Play Shaw at 2B, trade the rest for pitching because there will be nowhere for anyone else to play after we sign Soto
  8. 2 off days in the next 7 days. Why is our best hitter sitting for Mike Tauchman?
  9. Has a team ever started 6 top 100 prospects in the same game before?
  10. You know there are metrics to evaluate these things right? They aren’t perfect, but PCA and Bellinger aren’t even close.
  11. PCA being awesome is so awesome. Absolutely ridiculous
  12. PCAs jumps and speed are ridiculous. Makes everything so routine.
  13. lol didn’t pull it quite enough for even a trop bop, but I checked BS immediately.
  14. What the actual horsefeathers is that call??
  15. I’d be excited if not for the DBacks, Mets, and Padres playing great baseball as well. I bet we pass the Cardinals and Pirates but still miss the playoffs by a few games. If we continue at the pace of the last 25 games (15-10) it still only gets us to 84 wins, which I don’t think will be nearly enough.
  16. Yeah on a couple pitches he had no business swinging at. Much better approach today (and recently).
  17. Most impressive day of PCAs big league career? .600 xBA single, 104mph fly out (homer in 20/30), and 9 pitch BB. More promising than the 2 homers on bad balls game.
