I hate that they allowed Stroman to make starts down the stretch in place of Assad. What an all around choke job from the players, to the GM, and of course, the manager.

Yeah, he’s been very very bad. He’s definitely trying to do too much. But I’m not worried about that part of his game long term.

lots of doom and gloom. We are still more likely to make it in than not based on the maths. And I don’t think that takes into account Milwaukee, and possibly Atlanta, potentially not putting out their optimal lineups everyday. A win tonight would make me feel much better about their chances, though.

Currently have > +100 RD for the first time this season. Let’s increase that some more.

Yeah, try to limit their outings. Don’t put them on the IL in the middle of a playoff chase. With a 4 run lead in the 8th, Ross didn’t have to pitch Leiter and Merryweather. He needs to expand the circle of trust a tiny bit with a 4 run lead with 6 outs to get.

Probably could have used a reliever at the deadline. These dudes are gassed with no off days in site.

Wicks > Wesneski seems like a piggyback that could work. You might get a primarily right handed hitting lineup with Wicks on the mound, which feeds nicely into Wesneski. On the flip side, there could be some good pinch hitters ready to jump on Wesneski. Either way, I think it may be necessary to save the pen with how Wicks is probably limited to 80ish pitches per game and if he’s gonna K a bunch of dudes, he’s more often than not going to get there in 4-5 innings max.

Fulmer has allowed 7 runs since May prior to today. And it’s not like a 3 run lead vs the Tigers in the 8th inning is some crazy high leverage spot.
