  1. I don't think we should trade CPatt. He's been a valuable poster here, and he's the only other T.B. Bucs fan on the board besides me.

    Check this out.

the 4th post made me lol

I voted for him too. I had forgotten about that, but when I read it I couldn't stop laughing just thinking about it.

  12. I'm not in there often, but while the ushers usually tell people in the seats to stop smoking in a timely manner, it's been my impression that the people standing in the back go largely unnoticed. Hmmm. I've got a couple of buddies I sit in the bleachers with several times a season, and they always bitch that they have to go down on the ramp where they can't see the game in order to smoke. If they can't go a few hours without a smoke that's their problem.
  13. He was the best backup catcher on the Dodgers last year.
  14. I would hope he'd come cheaper than Miguel Tejada.
  15. My friend is a huge Braves fan, and he told me that a while back. He said several of the Braves pitchers didn't feel he was responsible for their success.
  16. Maybe his hat size will increase like Bonds' did, and he will be able to wear his hat straight.
  17. I think you mean Juan Rincon unless there's something I don't know about Ricardo. Ha. I've been thinking this whole thread was about Juan Rincon too.
  18. that's why I responded to the original post the way I did.
  19. This move should save the Cards alot of money. My dad (a Cards fan) swears they gave King a bucket of chicken everytime he pitched a scoreless inning.
  20. I hope everyone knows I was joking. I was well aware he's from Louisiana.
  21. Maybe he'll get Big Mac's old locker.
  22. I thought Juan was a Mexican.
  23. This is definitely a positive, but it needs to be pointed out that the Venezuelan Winter League is typically between AA and AAA in talent level. They don't have "the book" out on him yet.
  24. I think Hendry looks at the value that a player would bring to the entire organization, not unlike an investment banker managing a portfolio of loans and investments. The contracts with Rusch, Howry, Eyre, and Dempster allow Hendry to trade the organization's strength (pitching prospects) for established position players. Neifi! is a hedge in a market (SS) with few alternatives and high prices. The contracts with Neifi!, Howry, Rusch, and Eyre look overvalued individually but have more value when looking at the entire "portfolio" of players and prospects. By maximizing and storing value, Hendry can pounce on undervalued assets that become available during distress sales (e.g., Ramirez, DLee, now Tejada). That sounds like some BS that came straight from Hendry's mouth.
  25. Wouldn't that be sweet if we all had a team to read stuff for us.
