  1. Fukudome 2nd is a must! And who would believe that Sullivan reads BP? Link to the free BP article - here.
  2. It is very early, but here's hoping Fukudome gets hot and convinces Lou that he's "most comfortable" hitting 2nd...
  3. PECOTA projections Payton: .267/.309/.400 (vs. LHP .282/.330/.414) average CF defense? (+2 in LF) Crisp: .271/.335/.415 (vs. LHP .280/.337/.413) GG CF defense (+8 in CF) Big salary differences, though.
  4. I think expanding the trade may be the route to getting it completed - though the Cubs are more likely to get a Payton dump. I'm guessing that the Cubs' scout(s) in FL are looking more at secondary Orioles targets than at Roberts.
  5. Sorry to insert this into the Barrett for Greene thread...
  6. I'm calling Wednesday as the first time we hear the words Hand Specialist.
  7. 3-5 days for a fractured finger? I heard it on XM, and though my reception was bad, I thought I heard 3-4 weeks...stupid ears! I am much happier with the "days", though that seems fast.
  8. I'm not sure this is any different than Murton's hints at wanting to be traded...
  9. I think I can take my services elsewhere if that's the case and I can help another team, in that capacity as a starter - Marquis He can go - Piniella
  10. The fact that the lineups get WORSE every inning during the Spring games is kind of frightening...
  11. No Aramis, likely no Fukudome (2 on, one off?)... but still Cubs baseball!
  12. Darn Fukudome - can't even be perfect with OBP through 6 measly PA...
  13. BP weighs in with a projection of: .271/.349/.507 EqA.284 17.5 VORP , 2.8 WARP (in 302 PA) Also this projected platoon split - vs. LHB .286/.369/.523 I would take that for the right price... though its affect on Pie's development (especially in a straight platoon) needs some figuring.
  14. It's the "new math"?

  16. Original 2/15 Projections Central (Record, Club, RS /RA) 89 - 73 Chicago Cubs 845/759 87 - 75 Milwaukee Brewers 829/765 79 - 83 Cincinnati Reds 772/794 74 - 88 Houston Astros 725/798 72 - 90 St. Louis Cardinals 711/796 71 - 91 Pittsburgh Pirates 715/822
  17. Got mine in the mail today - great to see a Cub (and a paired nice comment) on the cover photos.
