  1. At Arsenal next Sunday too. Could potentially be a death blow to them. Mahrez cost them £400,000, do you sell high high or lock him long term? Gotta keep him, right? They make a decent champions league showing and he pays for himself.
  2. Pulisic was great. Super active, everything is positive, as soon as he plays it he immediately makes the best run and shows again for the ball. The best part of the game though was when he started showing up everywhere in the attack so John Brooks stepped up and squashed him like a bug. Brooks is so good for Berlin. It's unbelievable how effectively Jurgen makes his players worse for the National team. He's anti-chemistry.
  3. Leaving Ethan Finlay open on the wing on a counter is a really good way to give up a goal. You should probably play actual wide wingers more often, huh, Jurgen? As opposed to central midfielders or forwards with brick foot touches. Jozy really beat the horsefeathers out of their center backs all night. Looking real good.
  4. Pretty much. I didn't watch last night. I'm twenty minutes in and his first touch has killed at least 5 great counter attacks But I got Dortmund on the dvr so I'll get to watch Christian Pulisic who probably has the quickest, softest feet I've ever seen from an American of any age. Jozy looks great though. Lost some weight and looks quick. Very active and strong. I think Toronto is my MLS cup pick right now. They made some great moves this offseason.
  5. Jurgen is a disaster. This lineup is absurd. This is a meaningless game. These are all true statements.
  6. http://www.espnfc.com/chelsea/story/2800293/radamel-falcao-out-pato-in-chelsea-champions-league-squad Miazga on Chelsea's Champion's League squad.
  7. He got promotions younger, but Diego Costa's journey is even more impressive, especially considering the geography covered and foreign cultures he's had to adapt to in his climb. They have being hyper-competitive, total assholes in common.
  8. They would score 150 a game and the starters would play 25 minutes a game. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--warriors-serious-threat-to-sign-kevin-durant-182559375.html
  9. Thibs was on Bill Simmons' podcast. Can't listen. Miss that guy.
  10. SKC loaned Erik Palmer-Brown to Porto. So last year's U-20 central defenders get paychecks from Porto, Tottenham and Chelsea. That's pretty good.
  11. US U-17 next great hype, Christian Pulisic, debuted for Dortmund today. That's not the movement of a 17 year old. He looks special. So Miazga signs with Chelsea, CCV is about to debut for Spurs at 18, and Zelalem is doing well at Rangers. Senior team is in a lull right now, but the future looks great.
  12. Sounds like it's almost official. Hopefully Chelsea actually wants him rather than their usual FFP strategy of buying young talent just to buy and then loan it out perpetually. http://www.espnfc.us/new-york-red-bulls/story/2795020/matt-miazga-set-to-join-chelsea-of-the-premier-league http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3418443/New-York-Red-Bulls-defender-Matt-Miazga-closing-dream-Premier-League-move.html I don't know. I think they'll loan him out.
  13. It's time for Everton to move on. We should move on after Copa too. Skip past Guzan and go straight to Steffen, Hamid etc. I'm concerned about MIazga. He can make a super high profile move to Chelsea and never play. I never like England as the first move abroad. Too much pressure on PL managers to play young imports big minutes.
  14. NYCFC brought it back into vogue with Pirlo and Lampard. The Galaxy have signed Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole and Van Damme in the last calendar year. It's not winning titles for anyone. I don't know why it's happening again.
  15. I just really appreciate how committed he is to becoming the next Landon. He even gets the smallest details right. Thinning hair, homesick in Germany, style of play, talent; he really gets the bit.
  16. Dang. Multi-year deal. Ain't no interim tags on Team LeBron.
  17. No worries. LeBron has already put his boy in place. Ty Lue is in.
  18. David Blatt has been fired. http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/2010/news/features/steve_aschburner/06/23/thibodeau/thibodeau608-062310.jpg
  19. http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2016/01/22/jordan-morris-contract-seattle-sounders-christian-pulisic-dortmund Jordan Morris turned down more money from Bremen to sign with Seattle. The Bremen offer came before the trial began and money was far less if they got relegated. The MLS unveiling has been the thirstiest thing they've ever done. Even the commissioner is tweeting congratulations. You would've thought they signed Neymar. If you go to their website, the four stories on their banner head are all about Morris. It's ridiculous.
  20. The Rockets just re-acquired Josh Smith via trade. LOL
  21. When you think MLS has reached peak weird with "blind draws" for marquee players, they're always able to raise the bar. Btw, Twellman is reporting the allocation order swap Colorado did with Chicago is to acquire Ale Bedoya as a DP.
  22. I don't know anything about college soccer, but the dude Chicago just drafted number one, Jack Harrison, is supposed to be real deal holyfield.
  23. You're not in Palo Alto anymore, bruh. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet] Clearly Klinsy is pushing for Europe. His dad is the Sounders team doctor and he's an academy guy so presumably friends and family want him in Seattle. USS is right, I think, that he'll end up in Seattle, but I don't think this is anywhere close to reality: The Sounders own his pro contract. The machinations of MLS make it complicated compared to europe, but "training" with European clubs is short hand for "try out with plans to begin neogtiations/valuations" any time an MLS player is "training" in Europe. MLS indulges training stints because of pressure from players, agents and US Soccer, but when Seattle doesn't necessarily want their player to be on trial, Bremen calling it anything other than training could easily be considered tampering if something broke bad and things turned sour between the player or Bremen and the Sounders during negotiations for a transfer. A young professional player doesn't travel halfway across the world to "train" without some other ambition being at play.
  24. Maybe Werder Bremen? http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2016/01/05/jordan-morris-seattle-sounders-werder-bremen
  25. That's a strange move for them. He must have pushed for it.
