Ramos moving Erik Palmer Brown up into D mid was interesting, because their midfield was getting out played on the ground all tourney and then they do a complete 180 against the best possession/passing midfield in the tournament. He's definitely a CB and I'm not advocating for a position change but it was a ballsy call from Ramos that paid off.

I don't know what it means in terms of MLS's byzantine salary cap, but I do know that European DP's that come in the summer, usually need an additional MLS offseason to get their bearings, as Deuce himself did in Seattle. Not sure if that applies to someone who hasn't exactly been wearing his legs out like Honda, but historically (anecdotally) that's been the case.

Haven't watched him in a few years, but I always thought Honda and Deuce were very similar style-wise back in the day. Dempsey's move inside has kept him valuable, but I'm not sure if Honda still has the legs to play out wide. I'm not saying he doesn't. I have no idea. That said, this Sounders team is stacked and if Marshall, Alonso, and Torres stay healthy, they could be an all-time good MLS team.

I would swap Roldan for Pontius but I'm biased for sounders. Zusi ad a defender is an eyebrow raiser but January camp is where you do this kind of stuff, not qualifiers or tournaments, Jurgen. Don't think Beasley or Wondo and some others make a full squad camp but I'm very satisfied with this roster. Looks like Brad Evans is a right back full time now with club and country. Intrigued by Manneh, Frei and Bingham. Excited by Nagbe and Feilhaber.
