  1. We’ve never won a qualifier in El Salvador, so the result is a positive in terms of getting the point. That’s not to say we couldn’t have won. Could have and possibly should have. Couple of those headers could’ve gone in from Robinson & Pefok. Dest is still a liability in concacaf. Tyler Adams had to shift over just to cover his turnovers and lack of commitment in challenges. He was absolutely terrible. Add to that, Konrad was paired with him on the left, and has all the same liabilities. Last major gripe was the choice to play Reyna wide and Aaronson centrally. GGG should’ve flipped that. Reyna is much more physically capable of standing up to the roughness. Either way, nothing to be worried about. Just some light frustration.
  2. Jamaica level in Mexico City
  3. Great start. The fireworks are not bothering them at all.
  4. The boys look terrified Except for Adams and Turner. Who had an actually lovely harmony going in the anthem
  5. Tied it up Dumb comment but I always assumed “concacaf’d” was only used when the better team is on the road. I’m referring to the Honduran shenanigans and terrible officiating.
  6. Canada is getting completely concacaf’d at home v Honduras. This would be an absolutely devastating loss for them. I’ll write them off now if they don’t pull it out.
  7. The music is terrifying.
  8. I had come around on Acosta being a useful member of the national team, but now I think I love him? "You didn't even start the game, you're retired" is just incredible Was just going to post this. All Kellyn Acosta slander stops now.
  9. I was 8 and only remember the cartoon dog mascot because it was a cardboard display in the lobby of my town's horsefeathers indoor soccer facility that stayed up for years after. i didnt realize it was a competition to see who was youngest you young piece of horsefeathers We're all in this together. We are the message board generation. We are all old. That said, you know who doesn't have any memories of the world cup? Weston McKennie. And I think that rules. https://www.si.com/soccer/2021/09/02/usmnt-el-salvador-world-cup-qualifying-berhalter-mckennie-pulisic-steffen “I didn’t really tune in last time to the World Cup qualifiers,” he said. “I watched highlights of the [decisive] Trinidad game, I think like everyone else did. But yeah, I don’t really watch sports so I didn’t really catch a lot of it.”

  11. I live three blocks from where I lived when we lost in Couva. I remember the route I walked my dog after we lost to blow off steam. I remember the people I called. I remember the songs I listened to on the walk. In between, I moved twice, thousands of miles each time. Ricardo Pepi was born when I was a junior in HS. An entire horsefeathers show presidential administration came and went. These thoughts don't mean anything to anyone but me, the relationship between my life and the time that has passed, but I couldn't be more excited to have world cup qualifying back in my life. Like most of you, I'm sure, sports calendar cycles help me measure time in my life and create milestones/landmarks that provide a rhythm and a feeling of normalcy. I can remember what I did and who I was with relative to the 2014, 2010, 2006, and 2002 world cups. Summer of 2018? I'd have to think harder without the timestamp framework. Anyway, 9 points would be magic. I would really enjoy and appreciate that. I could even stop calling it the hex, because of cursed players/coaches/results, and could start calling it the octagon. It would appear that Robbie Robinson did not need much time to feel out whether or not he wants to play for Chile: https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/inter-miami-s-robbie-robinson-leaves-chile-camp-to-consider-his-international-al He left camp and is back in Miami.
  12. F yeah let’s go Matt Quantifiably the mvp of mls https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-most-valuable-soccer-player-in-america-is-a-goalkeeper/
  13. Not so sure. He’s still raw technically and tactically. More like the typical young North American prospects of a few years ago. I think Belgium could be a long-term spot for him like Andy Najar & Sacha kljestan. Either way, if he develops quickly, it’ll be good for Brugge. Interesting move
  14. As a Bruges fan, I'm not happy with this draw - about as tough as it could possibly get. yea, that's brutal He’s not going to help with this draw, but I really like the Canadian bruges just signed, Tajon Buchanan. He’s still raw and has a ton of room for refinement and growth, but he’s extremely fast, athletic, strong, and is capable of some game breaking creativity. High upside if he transitions well and the club develops him right.
  15. We’re finally good enough for actual roster debate and hot takes like maybe Brendan Aaronson will be the best player in two years
  16. This is a sick roster. 9 points.
  17. Matt Turner in penalty shoot out? Against liga Mx all stars? Obviously that’s only ending one way. Also new guy went top bins to clinch
  18. Ladies and gentlemen, we got him What a get. This is the best US-Mexico dual national prospect, ever. GGG rules. Beating Mexico twice for trophies this summer super mattered.
  19. lol at the crowd shush
  20. And a helper!
