  1. http://www.televisadeportes.com/futbol/futbolmexico/071721/pachuca-y-la-coruna-podrian-llegar-acuerdo Deportivo want Torres in a Omar Bravo player swap. Or something. No hablo Espanol.
  2. Also, the USSF's release was incorrect. According to Greg Seltzer, he's eligible August 2, aka in time for Azteca.
  3. Hahnemann signs with Wolves. Glad to see him back in the Premiership. We again have 4 keepers in the EPL.
  4. Who cares? They are a class above us. Of course we lost to them. The ref could get every call right and we'd probably lose 6, draw 3 and win 1. It's not upsetting, it's reality. That doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Sure we probably lose anyway, but at least we have a chance to win or get a draw with 11 men on the field rather than the 10 we had for 57 minutes. Once Clark got carded, that was it. Even after Donovan put away the PK. I'd probably feel differently had we been completely outclassed in the first 33 minutes before Clark was sent off but we weren't. We managed to keep up the play for the rest of the first half but Italy took us to task in the second (which any world-class team would do against a weaker side that was down to 10 men). Don't mind me, I'm just coping.

Ricardo Clark doesn't know how to play internationally. You may be able to get away with that [expletive] in MLS, but not on the World stage. I don't know if Mastro was a better option though. Giuseppi Rossi is a treasonous, traitorous [expletive]. The Italians play dirty. The Chilean ref is blind. Feilhaber was obviously gassed recently coming back from injury and had no business being in that game as long as he was, especially a man down. Props to Landon for making himself known in the first half, but too little, too late. We need a second striker with Altidore desperately. 2010 will be more of the same as 2006.
  6. Born and raised in Teaneck, NJ. Left the country when he was 14. Podolski moved to Germany when he was 2. Rossi is an Italian footballer, so it stands to reason that he's a prick.
  7. Doesnt work at work, any other feeds. Try myp2p.eu or p2p4u.net. That one's working at work for me, so I don't know what to tell ya. This team is so maddening. They shouldn't be able to play this well against Italy and choke to Costa Rica. Must be a matchup thing. And the pitch, better lineup as well as maybe losing to CR is why they are playing well.
  8. The MNT blog dropped the XI. Jozy Altidore Jonathan Bornstein Michael Bradley Ricardo Clark Jay DeMerit Clint Dempsey Landon Donovan - captain Benny Feilhaber Tim Howard Oguchi Onyewu Jonathan Spector I'm thinking that means: -----------------------------My Guy------------------------------------------ -Spec----------Gooch-------------DeMerit----------Bornstein------ --------------------Rico----------------Mikey------------------------------- ----Deuce----------------Benny--------------------Landon------------- ----------------------------Altidore---------------------------------------- Aka, a really nice formation that I like and hope works. Maybe Mikey more forward and Rico as sweeper.
  9. More on Jermaine Jones. http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/14/jermaine-jones-comes-looking-for-america/ Regardless of what happens on the pitch, there is significant uproar in Germany over this right now, and for once it feels good to be on the good end of the international player switch uproar.
  10. Egypt are legit. I'm not watching the game, but I watched them in the African Cup or Nations last whenever it was.
  11. Impressive day for Peugeot, Corvette and Ferrari.
  12. I don't like people playing positions for the nats that they don't play for their club. He's going to be a lock at d-mid for Rangers judging by this years performance. To that I'll say two things. 1) I don't know if that means much. I don't the SPL/Rangers is anything that deserves a ton of respect. 2) Related to point 1 which is, I don't know how good Maurice Edu actually is. He's been pretty meh in his MNT duty. I know he looks good at Rangers, but like I said, what does that mean? Jermaine Jones is a much, much better player than Maurice Edu. Like I said earlier, I rated him before I knew he had any American connections. I watch a lot of Bundesliga and I saw maybe 3 Schalke games last year. He stood out. The real battle in the middle, imo, is Bradley and Edu and with the current head coach, we know who wins that. I'm psyched about Benny's performance and I'm still psyched about Freddy's potential. This could be a huge piece for us. Edit - also, Bocanegra is too slow to play left back internationally. I mean, it's worth a shot to try out I guess, but imagining him trying to run up and down the flanks with (insert awesome right winger like Ronaldo, Schweinstager, Joe Cole, etc here) is not a pretty picture.
  13. My shoes are in my feet HAHAHA
  14. I'm in the same boat. I'm much more into IRL and to a lesser extent, F1, but I'll watch LeMans just because of it's significance and the fact that it's cool, fast cars on a circuit.
  15. Thoughts on how the two of them will play together? They seem like thet could complement each other pretty well. Most importantly, I think this could be a revelation for Freddy's MNT career. -----------------Jesus Howard-------------------- ----Spec----Gooch----Boca----Bornstein---- --------------Bradley--------Jones--------------- -------Deuce--------Adu--------Donovan------- ---------------------Altidore----------------------- Honestly, based solely on the Honduras game, I'd rather start Feilhaber than Bradley, but we know that's not going to happen under current management. Jones is the kind of box-to-box general that can cover for Freddy defensively, link the back line to the midfield and loose some rockets from outside the box. Edit - Since I know Bradley will never not start Mike, I'd love to see this attempted: -----------------Jesus Howard-------------------- ----Spec----Gooch----Boca----Bornstein---- --------------Bradley--------Jones--------------- ------Deuce-----Feilhaber-----Donovan------ ---------------------Altidore----------------------- Feilhaber in the Gerrard/Lampard role. That's where he plays at Aarhus. I'd love to see them give this a shot.
  16. He'll miss Azteca as well. The rules take hold in October. I read on Big Soccer that the genesis of this was M Beezy basically recruiting him before a M'Gladbach v Schalke match.
  17. Overall? He's their 4th best player when Jameer Nelson is healthy. I'm a sucker for big guys who can play point, its what I used to do. But, I really like Turk so I am probably way overrating him. He is such a matchup problem. With he and Lewis, they have some freaky match up problems on the wings.
  18. Overall? He's their 4th best player when Jameer Nelson is healthy.
  19. He's David Robinson. Robinson was a rookie at 25. He didn't start scoring big until he was 29. Dwight Howard isn't close to his prime yet.
  20. I have the dvr set, but I doubt I watch anything more than the beginning and end. Corvette's swan song this year in GT1 is a compelling story line as well.
  21. Get in line, pal.
  22. I'm excited about him. I thought he was fantastic before I knew he was even US eligible (like a week ago).
  23. We have ridiculous depth at the holding mid, but he is immediately top choice, imo. See ya Mastro. I wish he could go to Confederations Cup. Maybe he will get some playing time in the Gold Cup. I'm just curious to watch him play some as I pretty much never watch the Bundesliga. He is nails. He is fast. He is strong. He is angry. He is aggressive. He is real, real good. He was voted the 4th best midfielder in the Bundesliga last year. Not center mid either. Mid in general. Behind Ribery, Ozil and Eduardo. A good comp would be Daniele De Rossi. Hard man who can get forward and distribute and attack. He is kind of a douche bag though according to his wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jermaine_Jones
