  1. Every result in the 2002 World Cup still trumps. but damn am I up the wall right now.
  2. THIS IS WHY I DRINK. Just how in the [expletive] is anyone supposed to ever be able to form any definitive opinions on this team? It's impossible! OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD
  3. Lineups are posted: --------------------------------Howard--------------------------------------- --------------Torres (gah)--------------Villa (double gah)------------- ---Spec-----------Gooch-------------DeMerit----------Boca (wtf)--- ----------Riera----------------Xavi---------------------Fabregas---------- --------------------Bradley-------------------Clark------------------------- --------------------------------Alonso---------------------------------------- -----------------Deuce--------------------------------Lando--------------- ---------Capdevilla--------Puyol---------Pique----------Ramos-------- ----------------------Davies---------------Altidore------------------------- --------------------------------Casillas----------------------------------------
  4. American agents must have a helluva relationship with Fulham. From SBI's Twitterings: http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm16/dhohulin/sbitwit.jpg
  5. He covers more ground than Landon and has a higher completion % than Mikey. I think the stats have a flaw in that when Deuce gives up possession, he tends to do it in a bad spot. That must explain Gooch's low score. He hasn't covered much ground or made a lot of passes. He's been an animal in the box though.
  6. Exactly. If he hits anything on the ground it's an instant DP. And it may come as a surprize that Albert is not the Cards' best clutch hitter....that would be Molina. yeah, no. This year with... (avg/obp/slg/ops) - (rank on team according to baseball reference) RISP: Pujols: .353/.548/.686/1.234 - 1 Molina: .281/.408/.316/.724 - 8 Close & Late: Pujols: .267/.450/.300/.750 - 6 Molina: .231/.231/.269/.500 - 13 Tie Game: Pujols: .351/.442/.844/1.286 - 3 Molina: .273/.347/.341/.688 - 9 Within 1 Run: Pujols: .312/.455/.712/1.167 - 1 Molina: .255/.303/.324/.626 - 14 Innings 7-9 Pujols: .310/.430/.521/.951 - 5 Molina: .277/.338/.369/.707 - 11 I could keep going... But yeah, it's not even close. And hey what do you know? Average those out and you get pretty much the same ops as his overall season, not too far off from his career ops.
  7. At this point before the draft, it's best to just stop paying attention because you can't believe anything that anybody says. Everybody's posturing at this point.
  8. http://www.fifa.com/confederationscup/statistics/castrolindex/ranking.html Deuce the seconds best midfielder in the tournament? Hmm...I think Landon and Mikey have been better.
  9. Dammit. It's the UK rights. We're still stuck with FSC.
  10. Oh god it's sweet. Honestly, I just look at him and feel safe. I love that man.
  11. Hell yeah, ESPN! http://unprofessionalfoul.com/2009/06/uf-quick-throw-breaking-news.html
  12. So he passes up the chance to play in the Champions league group stages with Standard Liège (automatic qualification) to play in the effin' Europa league and that nuthouse in Istanbul? Hope the money makes it worth his while. I'm thinking he has to be getting a fat contract.
  13. Ives may annoy me, but his scoops are fantastic. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/06/espn-strikes-deal-for-la-liga-rights.html Oh man this is fantastic. I love La Liga and I love ESPN HD. Also, if this means Phil Schoen could be affiliated with ESPN and maybe someday replace Dellacamara, I'd be psyched. Also, they should can Tommy Smyth's [expletive] ass and replace him with Ray Hudson. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/06/report-onyewu-to-fenerbahce.html This is out of nowhere. All due respect to Fener, who are a great European side, I'm disappointed. I wanted Gooch to get into that EPL, day-in-and-day-out grind.
  14. Ives is lame. That Rossi article and the Monday Morning Center Back article are idiotic.
  15. They had some key injuries, and probably overlooked the US. Not that I blame them.
  16. What the hell. We saw heart today. Charlie and Jozy were a handful. Landon was all over the place. The back line was solid as a rock. I love our full backs compared to where we were about a month ago with Hejduk and Pearce. I liked the formation a lot. Replace Rico with Jones and we'll have something. Bradley...I don't know. He's still naive and not the best man for the job. He was always going to get his World Cup cycle anyway. Whatever. Guzan played well, organized the back line well. Bradley, Onyewu and Landon have been our best players all tourney and they were fantastic today. 3 goals in the run of play was a nice surprise. Something worth noting about that is that DeMarcus Beasley sucks ass kills a lot of our attack when he plays.
  17. I read that yesterday. It's crazy. I have no idea what implications this will have, but I'd love to see some super open wheel racing league created that brings it back to the US and Canada. If INDY plays their cards right, they could make some serious in roads to being a big name world wide. I'd be curious what this means to next year's American F1 team.
  18. How great is this? Spoiler'd for nsfw language: Wynalda, lol.
  19. Yeah, plus there isn't an American coach out there with the tactical saavy to go head-to-head against the world's best. I guess Preki or Dom Kinnear would be worth a try if we have to go domestic. Obviously I'd like to see someone foreign and unbiased who can take a long, honest look at our player pool and find our best squad.
  20. I want -----------------------Bradley G------------------------- --John S-------Jay D------Chad M--------don't give a rat's ass -----Stew H------------Ben F------------JF Torres----- -------------------------Fred A-------------------------- -------------------Charlie D-----Joe A---------------- B - Cooper, Conrad, Rogers, Parkhurst, Bornstein, Simek, various others.
  21. I was on Beasley's wiki page just now. Check out his international goal chart: http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm16/dhohulin/demarcusintlgoals.jpg Talk about scoring on tough competition. Carlos freakin Bocanegra has a more impressive strike record for the Nats. This is my preferred lineup from now on. -------------------Howard---------------------- --Spec------Gooch---Boca--------Born--- -------------------Jones------------------------ Clark------Edu--------Mastroeni--Bradley -------------------Ching------------------------- NIL-NIL BABY! LET'S GRIND OUT THOSE RESULTS!
  22. More like, Suck it, America because now Egypt will be playing for keeps.
  23. Yeah, because that'll be less frustrating, lol.
  24. Welp. I'm done watching. DeMarcus Beasley is a worthless piece of crap. We know that, why doesn't the head coach of our National Team? Making mental mistakes like that at this stage? That was like Milton Bradley throwing the second out into the stands in a must-win playoff game. The first goal wasn't a foul and thus shouldn't have existed, but [expletive] that was a flawless set piece. Is Claudio Reyna coaching yet? Does it matter? Can we hire him anyway?
