  2. That Hollinger guy prolly doesn't even watch games. Just waits for the spreadsheets to update. F him. PER? More like DERRRRRRRR.
  3. It didn't look bad. Kind of rolled/fell onto his shoulder. Didn't look like he's going to miss time.
  4. Who's psyched for a 6-8 seed? This guy.
  5. Never great when a relegation battling team gets a result with the player you want playing, on the bench. Tends to become a trend.
  6. My bet is on the rumored pre-World Cup friendly in Holland. January camp too. I'd be surprised if we see him before them which is obviously not ideal.
  7. Roster for the game you won't see: G: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa: 5/3 SO), Tim Howard (Everton: 14/8 SO) D: Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes: 24/3), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA, 4/0), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96: 19/0), Jimmy Conrad (Kansas City Wizards: 1/0), Clarence Goodson (IK Start: 1/0), Oguchi Onyewu (AC Milan: 18/1), Jonathan Spector (West Ham: 3/0) M: Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach: 13/4), Ricardo Clark (Houston Dynamo: 7/1), Clint Dempsey (Fulham: 20/5), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy: 33/11), Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus GF: 4/0), Stuart Holden (Houston Dynamo: 3/0), Robbie Rogers (Columbus Crew: 0/0), José Francisco Torres (Pachuca: 6/0) F: Jozy Altidore (Hull City: 11/6), Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids: 5/0), Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo: 16/6), Kenny Cooper (1860 Munich: 1/1), Charlie Davies (FC Sochaux: 5/2) Holden, Rogers, Torres, Cooper, Goodson, Conrad are surprises. I like the possibility of Torres or Holden playing big minutes.
  8. I killed it last week. Loss: Texans -3.5 Win: Manchester City -250 Jets -2 Parlay (3 Teams) Bears -2.5 Giants -6.5 Saints -6 Packers -6.5 Colts +2.5
  9. Christiano Ronaldo is good, United is resilient and AC Milan sucks hard.
  10. Gooch debuts in the 59th. This is when we all knew he'd start to get some burn. Fixture congestion and injuries starting to pile up.
  11. I don't know why but I hate him. If I was marking him, I'd just want to crush him like a tiny little bug.
  12. As well as Turcios. That's their roster for the next two.
  13. And it will be v: GOALKEEPERS: Noel Valladares, Donis Escober, Ricardo Canales DEFENDERS: Víctor Bernárdez (Anderlecht), Osman Chávez, Maynor Figueroa (Wigan), Boniek García, Emilio Izaguirre, Erick Norales, Carlos Palacios, Mauricio Sabillón. MIDFIELDERS: Edgard Álvarez (Bari), Julio César León (Parma), Ramón Núñez, Amado Guevara (Toronto FC), Wilson Palacios (Tottenham), Hendry Thomas (Wigan), Danilo Turcios, Melvin Valladares. FORWARDS: Carlos Pavón, Carlo Costly, Walter Martínez, Jerry Palacios y David Suazo (Inter Milan).
  14. This is such a tired story. No one in MMA's target demographic that would be inclined to watch a combat sport still thinks MMA is human cockfighting. Any guy, 18-35 who does, will never like the sport regardless of what kind of evangelism you do for the sport. They just aren't fight fans. Any fight fan who says that is just being a head in the sand traditionalist loyal to boxing which is understandable. They like it better, fair enough. The fact is, like you said, MMA is a huge sport. The reason I have my doubts that it will ever be like Dana White likes to proclaim, the biggest sport in the world, is the culture surrounding it. It's an almost perfect correlation to NASCAR. Some people don't care about cars and some people don't like fighting. Beyond that aesthetic preference, like IMB mentioned, a ton of people are turned off by the fan culture. I like auto racing but hate NASCAR because of the redneck fans, redneck drivers, redneck sponsors and redneck traditions. I like MMA a lot, but I can easily see how that would be true for MMA. I hate the super aggro dudes with tribal armband tattoos and TAPOUT window stickers on their SUV's. I hate terrible nu metal blasting from sound systems. I hate people who wear Affliction and Ed Hardy or have douchey facial hair and wear tight jeans with odd embroidery on them. I like the sport for what it is. It's really compelling, often inspiring and definitely appeals to the primal nature of testing yourself against someone else with no distractions or advantages beyond what you're gifted with athletically, tactically, mentally and what you gain through hard work. That's the cool part.
  15. Lol, that Duka goal was awesome.
  16. Jeffrey any good? I don't know much about him. Young and learning. Has potential as a hard worker in midfield, but still a lot of mistakes in his passing. ETA: his new coach at Brugge (Adrie Koster) should be ideal, as his previous position was with Young Ajax. Sound like a typical American player. Athletic w/ lots of hustle but low on skill.
  17. Jeffrey any good? I don't know much about him.
  18. Hey! What do you know? The Mexican Sports media jumped the gun and/or made something up.
  19. Could be an indication of whats to come? I wonder how differently they treat a WC Qualifier from a Club Champions League match. Probably even more serious.
  20. http://www.record.com.mx/futbol/suspenden-juego-entre-toluca-y-marathon-28092009.html CONCACAF Champions League match suspended in Honduras...
  21. Is Tom Hanks eligible for Krakhozia? We should cap him just in case. Yeah that Germany friendly in '06 was really helpful. You're right though. I'm just in a foul mood for reading that hypothetical seeding of Brazil, Holland, US and Cote d'Ivoire or however the snobby way to say it goes.

  24. Not that mind seeing all of the keepers grow from our youth teams, but its going to be nice when we see that midfield leader come up at a young age and just dominate. Yeah I'm with you. We have some serious prospects that are just a bit too young for this U-20 cycle.
  25. Players to watch at the U-20's: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=678784&sec=global&cc=5901
