@GrantWahl: USA: Howard; Evans, González, Besler, Beasley; Jones, Bradley; Zusi, Dempsey, F. Johnson; Altidore. No Cameron & Goodson, Fab in the MF. Demps tucked in behind Jozy. This is more promising.
See, now Charlton I had actually heard of. Man, that's [expletive] up that a team gets cut down like that. Check out United on Netflix Instant. It's pretty good. Thanks for the heads up. I know it's Leeds, but is The Damned United any good? Damned United is really good. It's definitely worth a watch. Brian Clough is just an interesting character. +

Yeah. They were really young and really good and Bobby Charlton was just breaking into the senior squad. They would've won a handful of major trophies.
I think it's hyperbole. He wasn't even one of the greatest players on that plane. The English are obsessed with the concept of the grindy, white team captain figure. If they were Americans they'd be the type that would argue that Larry Bird was better than LeBron James because he was more of a hard nosed competitor.
Was it him that did it in the Honduras game or was that one of our other defenders? I remember somebody giving up on the play and it costing us a goal. It was him and Gonzalez next to each other, just like this time.
It's worth mentioning now that Europe is done: MLS has been GREAT so far this year. We have more American attacking talent under age 22 than I can remember tearing it up, teams are playing good attacking soccer and teams are scoring a ton of goals. Coaching is so much better than it was even 5 years ago, there are compelling rivalries and story lines and everyone should pay attention.
