  1. He needs a final touch, period. Shots or passes. Which is why I will be debuting a kick starter to buy him on behalf of AZ Alkmaar that launches tomorrow.
  2. RELEASE THE BREKKEN
  3. Which beloved current MNT player will eventually turn into a horrific color guy like Cobi Jones? I'm going Omar Gonzalez.
  4. Ooh, good point. Probably.
  5. Wondo's going full Torres on 'em. He's gonna grab that golden boot from one game.
  6. [expletive] you, Parkhurst.
  7. He's an INCREDIBLE shot stopper. By far our best pure shot stopper. He struggles on crosses because of his size, but his shot stopping is unbelievable considering he's like 5'9. He's so good in PK's that if it wasn't a crazy, firable choice, id say he should sub in for Howard if we were ever facing pk's. Interesting, I guess I should've guessed he's a good shot stopper since his organization/distribution has been horrific for the USMNT and he's certainly not an athletic specimen. Highlights flatter, but he's worth a YouTube session. Full disclosure, I have an inexplicable soft spot for Rimando.
  8. Joe Corona tries too hard, Beckerman isn't Holden and Gooch would eat these men on set pieces. Sub Shea for Torres, Holden for Beckerman and Jack Mac for Corona, move LD to Corona's spot.

  10. Chill, Wondolowski. It's a sitter vs Belize. Act like you've been there.
  11. I'd pay $100 for fox soccer to drop the commentary and just play crowd sounds.
  12. It's really weird/dumb how: -EPL wonks keep referring to Jozy's year stint at Hull when he was 19 like it is predictive of his potential performance at Sunderland. -Disappointed US fans behaving like Jozy is going to retire at Sunderland and never move up even if he plays well. He's far better and Sunderland is far better than Hull. This is a huge opportunity to showcase himself for a huge move after the World Cup.
  13. Jozy's final fee from AZ to Sunderland = $12,610,602. 8.5 pounds. A million more than Deuce. Once again the most expensive transferee in US history.
  14. So tonight's game starts at 10 CST? Good lord.
  15. Inter is now denying it.
  16. Diego Forlan to TFC.
  17. What. The [expletive]. Was this a prison league game? Jesus Christ.
  18. Thoughts: The Europe guys that came in the second half are better than the Liga MX guys that started. Excluding Herc. Mix and Holden are brilliant. If Mix gets stronger and Holden stays healthy, there is real competition at CM for who gets to play with Mike. Cam, Jones, Kljestan and those two is serious depth. Jose Torres, say hi to Benny Feilhaber when you get to good but irrelevant cm city. Landon is hungry. He's going to score 10 goals against Belize. Brek Shea is a final ball away from being a bad, bad [expletive]. There is something to this "style" vs tactics thing Jurgen is about. This team with almost completely different players is playing with more confidence than I've seen. Seriously, lets kickstart a transfer fee for AZ to buy Brek. He needs to find a final pass/shot/touch so he can be unstoppable.
  19. Brek looks like he's locked and loaded for this opportunity. Ready to take his shot. Adding some firepower to our arsenal. Taking aim at the competition. Ready to pull the trigger on his chances. http://deadspin.com/brek-shea-posted-then-quickly-deleted-this-very-america-563556201
  20. FYI, you guys, Landon Donovan and Stu Holden can ball. Mix too. The frenetic pace that was too chaotic for the starters gelled into a serious steam rolling in the second half when Shea, Mix and Stu came in.
  21. The first touch decided to boycott this game. Non-stop bobbling and turnovers. This Onyewu-Goodson cb combo might be the worst the US has fielded in 30 years,
  22. Knew this would happen. By the way, errbody, Dwight is a diva, annoying, overrated etc, but he just took less money to go to a better team, have a better chance at a title and didn't draw it out longer than he said he would. Worth mentioning.
  23. Seeing your previous post, I take it you like Jozy with Sunderland? I don't like it in terms of where I'd prefer to see him land, but I ultimately don't know what his options were and I'm glad he's going to be able to have a full preseason so we don't get a repeat of Clint at Fulham and Tottenham last summer. I understand why people don't like it. In a World Cup year you don't want to see a key player take on a risky new club situation. I just don't think Jozy has done anything to make believe this will be anything but a success. If he continues to play as well as he has for the last year, this will be a stepping stone to a bigger club. If he continues to improve, it could be a huge opportunity for him to make his next move into potential super stardom and make some serious money. So it's not ideal. I hate his manager's politics and it's certainly a risk in a World Cup year, but I think it'll be fine. I don't see him as the kid he used to be who could only thrive in perfect conditions. I think he's harder and ready to work.
