    The 40-man sits at 39 even with the Edmonds signing. They'd only have to clear a 25-man spot, accomplished by putting Ward on the DL. The only number question, really, is what uni # he'd wear; I count 6, 13 and 29 as suitable numbers available.

    I do recall that he dropped a good amount of weight and tweaked his hitting mechanics prior to last season, but other than that it's just a young man developing as a hitter in his mid-20's.
