  1. dear cubs, don't ruin this magical weekend of my going to two games in a row. JUST WIN! love, me
  2. dont they already talk about this with relievers....ive heard them refer to inherited runners allowed to score...it isn't an era just whoever was on when they came did they come in or not and they turn it into a percentage i.e. Scott Eyre has allowed 100% of inherited runners to score this year
  3. Sweet! I don't want to get too hyped up about him though - we've been let down by Prior and Wood far too often. That would be a sick pen though. Ohman Wuertz Marmol Howry Wood Dempster im all for wood comin back to help, thus giving me an excuse to break out the we got wood shirt again...haha but glad to hear dempster is goin to be back right away and that report was wrong It's nice to hear that now. I remember in the off-season many people saying how bad Dempster was. Now peeps are looking foward to him coming back. :) Because the alternative is Bob Howry. I've never been that upset about dempster...i kinda always liked him, but i like him even more now that the alternative is bob howry
  4. i really hope soto has a fontenotesque couple of weeks in his call up, thus leading to an extended shot at catching, cuz if he starts slumpin he will get a few days off which will turn into 14 days off which will turn into a demotion
  5. Soriano, Pie, Griffey.... That's a mighty fine defensive outfield. At this point in his career, Griffey isn't a whole lot more mobile than Floyd. He's been one of the worst defensive RF's this season. I'd still want him, though. he threw out a laboring arod in the all star game...so he should be good for throwin el caballo out once in a while

  7. Yeah, Soto isn't anything special. But you are talking about a legit opportunity to see an increase of 300+ OPS points out of a position, from the ~400 OPS provide by Hill and Bowen to possibly a 700 from Soto. Any such move is going to draw attention. Hey, I'm here, too. Just wish we had more to pontificate about, like why aren't we hearing more about the 3 teams interested in Izturis? Levine mentioned that the Blue Jays and Orioles were having 'aggressive' discussions regarding Izturis. So, while it's not quite "pursuing," at least it's hopeful. haha...id like to see a platoon of Royce Clayton and Cesar Izturis in Toronto
  8. Hill is out of options. Assuming he's the one leaving to make room, he'll be going to a different organization. Hill, Isturis, Eyre, Jones and Murton for Griffey? :D I WISH....but i heard the report Levine is giving that if izturis is traded then Ronny will be recalled from Triple A
  9. god i hate the all star break...im losin my freakin mind here....is it friday yet?
  10. Agreed. I can understand (though not agree) with not using Pujols for Hudson. Once the bases were loaded, there's no excuse. agreed, because with them loaded the game has more chances to end with that at bat then not...cuz a single scores Lee pry, an out ends it....
  11. They're not his players though, he has to feel some obligation to not put them in a situation that's out of their element, could hurt them if they are playing out of position, etc. I think we probably agree on the fact that HF advantage resting on this is a farce. Still ... I'm not asking for a hard slide at the plate. Lope on in. But when a hit wins the game, you send up your so-called best hitter. That's not a managerial move, that's a political statement. The thing that bugs me is that they interviewed TLR during the game about holding pujols out until the right time when he needed him and he said he can play a lot of positions...including second, left, and shortstop...boo TLR boo
  12. yeah, no joke...TLR isn't as smart as everyone says....at least the cubs had a good outing and brought that fake rally wit them to the national scene
  13. some great ab by the cubs that inning
  14. i wanna see reyes run tonight, but not if that means i gotta see bonds drive him in and win the damn mvp
  15. great play by the prince....keep up that good work into the second half
  16. i just want soriano and dlee to represent...o and i wouldn't mind seeing all the brewers begin their second half slump tonight...maybe pull a coupl hammys running or whatever
  17. id be down with torii hunter as a rental...
  18. well i'll take the road trip...considering the cubs were 8.5 games back a couple weeks ago and the idea of being out of first by just 5 was kinda stretchin it. 4.5 games back goin into the second half i'll take
  19. if the cubs win that prior game in 2004 then they would have been tied going into the final weekend series....and would have been a .5 game up if they won the rusch game...but that damn bullpen blew it. but yea i def see the same thing goin on in teh division this year as 2001...i just hope it plays to form also, i hear mulder is throwing bullpen sessions now but only fastballs, so i imagine he is gonna be a lot longer...but i would like them to be 7 games behind the cubs by the deadline to be 60% confident they can't catch either team
  20. yea same here...and those fecal league standings are looking crazy...haven't seen that many teams in front of the cubs for a while
