Is anyone still disputing that this is the worst organization in professional sports? That is now 100% beyond question. The new argument: Is the Chicago Cubs baseball club the worst organization in the history of human civilization?
Assuming that the guy who gets brought up will never play (Cub standard practice), it's OK that it's Hill instead of Soto. The bad news is that this means even more of MLB's dumbest player.
Four LF. No CF. No RF. No SS. Two 2B. One catcher that is so bad defensively, that, if he isn't hitting, is one of MLB's worst players. A bullpen full of guys each with his own personal gasoline can.
One could make an argument that, at this point, Cesar Izturis is a better offensive player than he is a defender. That pretty much says all that needs to be said about his value.
I'm all for a fire sale, but if you trade all of those guys (the only one I can understand is Zambrano), then you're guaranteed of not winning anything for at least the next 10 years. And they say I'm prone to hyperbole...
Poor overall talent + lack of baseball instincts + complete player apathy = 2007 Chicago Cubs 22-29? Overachievers! why do you even watch? I hold out hope that someday they may rise above laughingstock status. Believe it or not, it hurts me like little else.
On top of that, he didn't even pull anything! He'll do that after the game in the shower with some of his "special" teammates. Jeff.... those comments really aren't welcome here. Very well.
