  1. Let's not get all crazy because some of us don't trust the Cubs PR machine. The blog just explains the diagnosis not make it. Dr. Yocum made the diagnosis but he doesn't write the Cubs press releases and say there's nothing to worry about because it's just a muscle strain. He was asked his professional opinion. The media can seek him out independently. The Cubs don't have total control of this story thus, they aren't able to hide a more serious diagnosis. Not if they or Prior say it's about medical privacy.
  2. Thanks for explaining it more.

  4. Where do you think Gallagher will start out this season? When do they announce the rosters? Thanks.
  5. The guy who runs the 1060 West blog says that "a moderate strain of the subscapularis" = B.S. for "grade 2 tear of the rotator cuff." And that the cubs are blowing smoke up our backends by saying Prior will be back anytime soon. what else is new. Are there any doctors around who know if it's true? thanks. ok I finally got the link brackets to work
  6. The Chicagosports.com poll When does Mark Prior start for the Cubs again? 13.7% April/May (55 responses) 20.7% June (83 responses) 17.7% July (71 responses) 7.5% August (30 responses) 2.2% September (9 responses) 38.2% Never (153 responses) 401 total responses
  7. Sounds like he keeps showing up to camp out of shape.
  8. or maybe they really are out to get us!
  9. is it mike schmidt or someone else?
  10. Why do you act like he's happy to be just sitting on his ass, not pitching, competing, and picking up a paycheck? Honestly CubbieRich, you have it out for him on a personal level. Did he still a girl from you in a previous life or something? I know he's being paid, and not performing to that paycheck, but it seems your dislike and hatred for him go above and beyond just a player who is oft-hurt. Badger, my friend..looks like you're coming over to my side. I expect the highest paid pitcher of the Cubs to lead the team by his performance, very hard to do from the perpetual DL. After years of denying he has bad mechanics, he now admits that he has changed them this winter. Steve Stone is right again. Thank goodness this $12 million DL veteran will be somewhere else next year. Are you moved yet? Have you found Mickey's Diner in St. Paul near the State Capitol? Hope everything is going well. Here how's he suffering through his rehabs every year. How much offense could that house buy? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y238/CubsGallery/krissyhouse.jpg
  11. This is getting really old. If he's hurt they should stop lying about it. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060304cubsbits,1,2446972.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  12. There was a blurb on ESPN about it being "close" but it didn't say it was final and it didn't say who the Padres were trading.
  13. can the new dreaded duo do worse than the old dreaded duo ath the top of the lineup? I'd rather keep walker and sitll kind of hope we do. I don't know about nomar he just doesn't seem to fit anywhere but man he can hit.
  14. What he said. Name the last time Hendry traded the best prospect in the organization and got fleeced. (no, the Dontrelle trade does not qualify) Cruz for Pratt? Cruz was the best prospect in the org? Close to, although he had a bit of major league time under his belt. does it even matter if the best prospect does squat?
  15. does starting player a keep corey off the field?
  16. I remember that people were so mad that Hendry didn't get Ivan Rodriguez. Would hve been nice last year not so much this year. I wanted him to get Beltran last year and yeah Beltran is way overpaid. Might have been nice if the Cubs tried to negotiate with him. Maybe I'll be wrong about that.
  17. whatever is wrong with Corey Patterson isn't going to get any better in chicago. I'd take a flyer on Juan Pierre over him next year. I'm not sold on Pie yet though. He's exciting but really raw and until the cubs can prove they can find and develop a minor leaguer who isn't a pitcher, I won't believe it. So I don't worry about "saving a space for him." If he's good enough, he'll earn it without it being reserved.
  18. I agree. I don't see the point unless we get somebody really good and don't have neifi playing second base!
  19. Man oh man what happened to Sing?
  20. Maybe last season. Was he that good this season? He made that awesome catch in Cincinnati and that was one of the best catches I ever saw. But that seemed to be his peak. He just didn't look very good in the field to me last season but I don't know what his stats say he did as far as defense goes.
  21. I'd like him to get a shot. Could anybody be worse than patterson was in '05? Dusty's head would explode if he was supposed to play Murton and Greenberg in the same outfield though.
  22. Will Carroll is backpedaling. Or something. http://www.baseballmusings.com/archives/012199.php
  23. I haven't watched any of the game, but he is 2 for 4. :| Oh he is? Ah, well based off of the last page of posts prior to mine, I just assumed that he was 0-fer and stunk in the field. Well, good for him. Gotta get that trade value up. Well, he's 6 for his last 17 with 4 doubles. Baby steps I guess. People were probably yelling because he got picked off first base again. he's like shorter speedier younger version of Moises Alou out there on the bases these days.
