  1. I love how Dempster always comes in the same way: BALL 1 BALL 2.....
  2. The question about Bonds got me thinking about Theriot. I really like watching this kid play! I haven't been this excited about a Cub since Sandberg. It's weird. I people keep reading everywhere that he doesn't project to be any more than a utility player and that Ronny fits more into our long term plans, but I don't want to believe it! How good will he be???
  3. 1st extra base hit of career for Buck!!!! Double.
  4. I'm not a fan of pitchers who can't handle a 8-0 lead.
  5. 99% of the time though, Beckett's value will cap what people will bid. This case is strange is that Beckett value obviously had no effect of the price. The 1997 David Ortiz rookies of late went through the whole higher market price, THEN higher Beckett price process that might happen with the Theriot rookie. Though not to that extent.
  6. I thought it was interesting that Ryan Theriot's 2001 Upperdeck XRC is worth a mere 40 cents in Beckett... ...YET, one just sold on eBay for $4.15 after 8 bids. http://cgi.ebay.com/2001-UD-Prospect-Premieres-28-RYAN-THERIOT-RC-CUBS_W0QQitemZ190029313990QQihZ009QQcategoryZ55889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem That NEVER happens with sports cards. This kid is taking the nation by storm!!!!!!! Go Riot!
  7. Corey is as black as Tiger Woods....
  8. I ACTUALLY feel sorry for Dempster this game - to this point.
  9. RBI single Bynum!! That's 1 error made up for....
  10. Looks like 9 for a second baseman in the NL (AL record is only 5). Andy Leonard Boston 9 errors 06-14-1876 BUT, that was on the old fields. I'd like to know the post-WWII record.
  11. I was looking through some stats and I noticed that Frank Thomas has an odd stat..... 8 doubles 33 homeruns Is this as rare or odd as it seems? The only player I can think of that might have a similar ratio is Bonds, but he has legged out 19 doubles to his 23 HRs. I realize that zero speed and bad health turn some doubles into long singles, but come on! Any thoughts?
  12. I love how Pagan was giving high fives with his helmet when he got back to the dugout, and Juan Pierre grimaced in pain after the high five and looked at Pagan with disgust as he passed by. Still, it wasn't as comical as Cedeno's last K.
  13. My fantasy team (with Lee and Theriot on it) will suffer as well today.
