i like the brewers offense alot more than the cubs, as it seems way less streaky. But the pitching is really no contest cubs ++. Overall, its about a push, so the deciding factor's would be the pen. Not sure where to go that way.
I think he's FAR FAR exceeded my expectations of him in the past year and a half, but I don't think that we should be content with him for the future. With Pie still being unproven, and since we dont really know what were gonna get from the outfield next year, I think we should definitely keep SS as place worth upgrading.

pre 03, it was all sosa, no doubt 03 it was wood and prior 04 you couldnt really put a definitive one, that whole rotation maybe 05 Lee, obviously and every since then its pretty much been Lee, Aram, and Z
well obviously its a high risk type thing, but i think that not doing this deal, with as under market as it was (even though it was 18 mil a year), would be rather stupid. I'd be really pissed to see him just walk away. Real glad he's locked up.
The Cubs are not going to win a WS until Pie becomes a valuable everyday player. That will happen with playing time in the major leagues. So I would contend the Cubs cannot afford to not let him play. i'm all for pie getting his PT, but thats a bit far fetched to say that we can't win WITHOUT him.
just for fun, name your 12 babe ruth and ted williams are the only ones that you can make an argument for. i'd throw gehrig, cobb, young, mays, aaron, wagner, and musial into the mix. Not sure how i'd rank them though, no good at that.
