  1. Can we tell Derrek that it's April again?
  2. Don't just pray. Beg God to save us from this. Sacrifice one of your friends if you believe in that stuff. Anything to save my sanity. I am tempted to sacrifice my best friend. The big dope actually thinks this is a good signing. I thought I knew the guy after 10 years...guess not.
  3. Should we change the title of the Forum to Trannysactions until this hits page 2?
  4. nsbb has been particularly hilarious today. Maybe it was worth picking Edmonds up after all Small victories, eh? Must be a slow day at work for ya...
  5. Best I can hope for now is that he blows a simple catch by trying to make a highlight reel and costs Z a victory and Z kills him...
  6. Ahh wonderful, my second least favorite player of the past decade, on the wrong side of his career. Nothing like a move for move's sake. I'm not a Pie fan by any stretch, but I would gladly jump on that BandWGN to keep Edmonds away.
  7. Never a bad idea. But my wife agrees with you...
  8. He is definitely better than a rod. Oh, A-ROD. Got it.
  9. Byrnes with the bad read and Edmonds-esque diving catch
  10. Soriano "My calf feels fine" Hey how about getting a hit(s) and running the bases to prove it?
  11. and what would that be? The one thing, I mean. :) Well, right now at least, that would be posting a .331/.406/.425. Which proves the one flaw to the ever important stat that OBP is. If you get caught stealing, you might as well have never been on base in the first place. Therefore, to accurately calculate OBP, caught stealing and caught attempting to take an extra base that you shouldn't have tried to take in the first place should be deducted from OBP. Hmm. I like it.
  12. and what would that be? The one thing, I mean. :) Well, right now at least, that would be posting a .331/.406/.425.
  13. Whew, I can continue disbelieving... Yeah, he should get a hit in every AB he takes, like the rest of the team. Haha. You Pie, Hill lovers really go overboard sometimes. Nothing like a little exaggeration, no? I simply said I was an unbeliever. You went off the deep end. Not like its anything new, I am used to you guys getting super testy. I believe there are many more Pie bashers than Pie lovers. The entire team sucks right now, yet you single out Pie constantly. Then you quote yourself like somebody actually cares. Why not post the same thing about the great Reed Johnson? His .664 OPS is really something. Oh, another out by RJ. I'm just saying, give the kid a break. He has a ton of potential and has been getting inconsistent PT. If we had a solid option in CF then I'd agree with not playing Pie right now. But because we have a guy OPSing .664 (now lower) even after a red hot start as our other option, I think we should give the kid a chance. Oh...and Rich Hill lovers are looking pretty smart right now. 1) I don't post frequently enough for you to make another exaggerated statement like me calling Pie out "constantly." You may have me confused with someone else, if so, fine. 2) I don't care enough about Reed to post about Reed. I also haven't had to hear he was the greatest thing since sliced bread for 4 years either. 3) Why do they look smart? Cuz Lieber struggled in his first start of the year while Hill looked good against Minor League talent? Rough comparison, but whatever. 1) You generalized me as a "Pie lover" and even a "Hill lover" although my post didn't include Rich Hill whatsoever, so I generalized you as a "Pie basher". "Pie bashers" constantly post about their dissatisfaction with Pie. 2) If you don't want Pie to play CF, who do you want? People have had reasons to say good things about Pie. He's hit at every level, while being underage most of the time. I'm glad you judge him on a total of 235 inconsistent ABs split over last year and the start of this year, though. 3) They look smart because obviously Lieber isn't the answer. Hill not only looked good against Minor Leauge talent, but looks very good against Major League talent for all of 2007. 1) apologies for the generalization re: Hill 2) ALMOST every level. Its not the number of AB's I am looking at, its his swing. You don't have to be a genius to know its a block of swiss cheese. (Long and full of holes) 3) Hill is in his own head and is also his own worst enemy. I wish he'd figure it out, cuz I'd rather have him here as well.
  14. 4 of his 7 HRs have been against the Cubs. Yes. They. Have.

  16. If God loves the Cubs, there will be a terential downpour until morning. Or if we're lucky, a torrential downpour.

  18. Can't have three lefties in the rotation, dude. Maybe they'll try to fix Hill by making him throw with his right hand and it will turn out that he's even better as a righty. Played with a guy in HS who could throw 90+ either hand for strikes. He'd get tired, switch gloves. True story. I could throw 90 in HS. 60 right handed 30 left. Isn't there a pitcher in the minors right now that does that? Or is that an independent league? Shrug...Is his name Michael Weisong?
  19. If Lix does something positive here, I won't say anything bad about him for at least 48 hours.
  20. I had to drop him from my fantasy team because of the lack of production. Good hitter, not as productive as I expected though. Say, he'd probably be fantastic out of the 2 spot!!!! In his defense, he hasnt gotten any at bats against Jon Lieber. Zing!
