  1. That block in the back call was awful.
  2. GOAL! Got to start somewhere.
  3. True, but at least he didn't dwell on it.
  4. Do everything in your power to make sure he doesn't grow up a Cubs fan if you truly love him. So who should I turn him onto?
  5. My son was born last Tuesday, I guess I should go ahead and change the station to avoid getting him hooked on the Cubs. What should I do?
  6. God as if I didn't hate ESPN enough, but they have to delay showing the Cubs for this crap Cards game. Finally!!!
  7. Game still on!
  8. All tonight's game does for me is make me want next football season to start tomorrow. I want to get the bad taste that was the Bear's season out of my mouth and see how much better (if at all) they do this upcoming season.
  9. Mardi Gras "season" officially begins on the Feast of the Epiphany, the 12th day after Christmas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mardi_Gras A good number of the Mardi Gras balls have begun. The parades have not. Our ball is this weekend. :old_givebeer: NOLA area parades start on the 30th. All the big parades (Endymion, Bacchus, Zulu, Rex, Orpheus, Proteus) will be after the Super Bowl on Valentines weekend.
  10. Sincere congrats on the win OMC. I feel better about the Bears beating you in 2006 now because if they had played anyone but the Bears I would have wholeheartedly been cheering for them. I know a lot of teams fans are long suffering (look no further than this board) but it felt like there was always something different about Saints fans. I don't know how to put my finger on it, but the pride in the Saints and what it means for the New Orleans area in general seems different from most other teams. Not to say that other team's fans don't have enormous pride but it just seems different. I've lived the better part of my life an hour down the road from N.O., went to Saints games as a child and despite my first Hutch equipment including an Archie Manning jersey I feel nothing. I've tried to again give a damn about the Saints, but I just can't. Except for that early period of my life when I really didn't "know" the game of football, I've always been a Bears fan first and foremost. Kind of sad actually that I take no joy in watching the Saints get to their first SB. Oh well. ETA: I did love the days of Pat Swilling, Ricky Jackson and Sam Mills.
  11. That was a good call.
  12. I didn't watch one second of the 2nd half once I heard McCoy wasn't going to play. Sounds like I missed any interesting half.
  13. Except counting his money. This is a fact and even then he's probably angry. At one point when he was at LSU my wife was responsible for making sure his Nike (and other $ outside of his paycheck) contract money got deposited into his accounts every month (something like 300K/month IIRC) and his people were always calling to harass her to make sure it was done in spite of the fact it was never not done when it was supposed to be. Dude's mercenary a-hole.
  14. One can only hope. I hate that SOB with every fiber of my being.
  15. Seriously? I can't think of one that "screwed" PSU. That penalty was BS, dude was trying to kill the clock. Should have been a delay of game on PSU. The last illegal motion penalty against PSU, that was obviously an offsides against LSU? Not that it mattered in the end, but it forced us to settle on a FG. One? Wow, what a screw job and I'm not sure it was an offsides. Games already been erased from the DVR so I can't check and don't remember what it looked like, but isn't it possible the DL just got a good jump. That penalty at the end was pure BS. Care to defend it on its merits?

  17. Love Joe Pa, but "Geaux Tigers!" ETA: Holy hell the field is trashed.
  18. I'm in the club too. Shocking, I know!
  19. I hate to say it, but "Let's go Gators!"
  20. I know I'm a little late in responding to this, but this post is comedic gold. I'm not trying to mess with you and don't think NS is in the picture for another job this year or even the next couple of years, but you're living in LaLa Land if you believe this and that he won't bolt at some point. First, he's a high priced call girl masquerading as a football coach (albeit a very good one). If a historically strong football school comes calling (especially one w/ deep pockets), he'll go. Bank on it. Particularly if the timing is right and it's a program he can raise up from the ashes. Secondly, you don't think LSU's fan base is rabid and intense? He could have run for Governor if he wanted to and probably would have won or at least made a good showing. These coonasses had the guy on a pedestal. That didn't stop him from bolting to the NFL. Although, I do understand that the situation was a bit different in that he had an itch he needed to scratch. Thirdly, don't believe that BS about Terry loving Tuscaloosa. She said the same thing about Baton Rouge and it didn't keep them from moving. Again slightly different situation, but $$$ talks. It's not wishful thinking, the guy will go at some point. It's a proven pattern of behavior.
  21. And I'd rather see Bama suck. It would be incredible, but I highly doubt it could/would happen. As an LSU alum I despise that man, but I'd take him back w/o a second thought in light of the coach we have now. If not LSU (he won't ever be there again and that's fine by me), I'd be glad to see him go to ND and turn that program around.
  22. How much money does ND have to throw around after canning Weis? Saban is like a high priced call girl, he's not cheap but he can be had for the right amount.
