  1. i very much doubt cedeno will start the year in the majors in 2007. I didn't say he would, but he wasn't the only option. If Theriot tanks and Cedeno comes out of the gate hot, why not?
  2. We were already versatile with Cedeno, Izzy, and Theriot.
  3. I'd rather have just gone with Cedeno/Theriot and maybe add a couple mil to an offer for someone of more impact. I'll be disappointed if this results in us losing out on Drew, Soriano, Lee, or a pitcher by a couple million.
  4. Illini up big on Austin Peay 44-20 at the half. Jamar Smith with 16 already. Listen to AP announcers here These announcers are hilarious.
  5. And suddenly Eli looks absolutely horrible. I can't wait to hear about how the Bears won because the Giants are hurting.
  6. I knew we had a shot when Hester dropped all the way back a la Vasher
  7. I'd like to see the Bears focus on the O-Line this draft/offseason
  8. Why would they? get within a FG Not with more than a quarter left.
  9. Finally running the ball. This should open up the passing game... TD CLARK WOO
  10. Carolina's the kind of team that, if they play well can beat almost any team in NFL history, but if they play bad they could lose to the 1976 Buccaneers. And there's usually no middle ground. Don't let the media know that. Do you think they could beat the '85 Bears?
  11. If we hadn't fumbled? We wouldn't have had amazing field position if we didn't fumble at the 2.
  12. Thank you Moose, you are semi-forgiven
  13. What the hell was that? He flopped
  14. We need to win this game. The Giants are playing without half of their defense.
  15. As much as it seems like Ramirez is gone for good...I can't help but think about what I would do if I were in his shoes. There are essentially 2 options he either wants to be a Cub, or he doesn't. Assuming he wants to be a Cub he still should take advantage of other teams driving up the price. It's not like if other teams drive up the price he can't still sign with the Cubs. He got the clause for a reason, I don't see why he wouldn't take advantage of it. He can be using this opportunity to see what other teams are willing to offer in order to get a market-value deal from the Cubs. It's not like the Cubs are going to say "nevermind, now that you're a free agent we don't want you anymore." He knows they need him and they should be willing to pay as much as it takes. How likely is this, I'm not sure. Assuming he doesn't want to be a Cub...well who can blame him?
  16. I remember when I really liked Hendry in '03. He had gotten us Ramirez and Nomar and seemed to be doing a good job of extending players that I liked. It seemed like he was doing a great job of keeping players happy and wanting to be here. Clearly, I was a wee bit wrong.
  17. Unless they start calling themselves the "D-backs" I don't like it. Teams really don't usually shorten their name for their uniforms, do they? They also look to Nats/Astros to me.
