    Fred goes on vacation, Cubs don't win. Coincidence? I think not.

    I think the offense is going to bust out. They are going to be patient, and Cueto will walk a bunch of guys.

    "Making" the playoffs is not the ultimate goal. My concern is not about making the playoffs, because we will. My concern is with how crappy they're playing in getting there the last 3 weeks. This is pitiful. At this rate, we're going to get swept out of the playoffs just like last year, after this great season. there is no 'this rate' because it is impossible they will play this bad getting into the playoffs I mean yeah if they are on a 0-30 run going into october I'm with you but that will never happen. How about if they're 8-22 or so heading into the playoffs? Would we have cause for concern? 2 of the last 3 World Series winners pretty much did that. Not that I'm saying I'd like them to do that.

    he started some games at 3rd for us a couple of years ago during one of Aramis' leg injuries. (I think) He was a September addition in 2005, wearing jersey no. 9. yeah September '04 till June '07 is pretty foggy to me.
